I liked Cogir of Peoria, if you were looking for something that was full memory care only. The staff was very friendly. I liked the secured front doors and stuff. I noticed that no matter which hall you went to. It was not a huge facility, which, personally, I think is a better fit for a lot of people with memory care, and it's not as overwhelming. No matter what hallway you went down to, there was always somebody who had eyes on the residents, so you didn't have somebody just left there, which I liked. I saw that they were trying to engage with the residents; just because they have memory problems doesn't mean they just need to be sat in the corner, which, unfortunately, a couple of places were like that. I would recommend this place. If my mother were just totally at full memory care level now, then I probably would have placed her there. Even though the staff didn't know me, they would say hello. They didn't act like you weren't there. I met with Jennifer. She was very informative, very kind. In fact, she is still staying in touch because they have a memory support group there that even if you don't have a resident there, you can still go to their support groups, which I thought was very, very good. Their prices were in range. I felt it was clean. It's an older facility, so people have to keep that in mind, and I find that if they're older, as long as they're clean. I have a thing about whether they are just nasty, but this one was kept clean.

My dad is here, and they seem to have good people there. The staff is very caring and is always there to help the residents. There are single and companion rooms with a bathroom. It's just a small space, but it's OK for an individual's needs. Dad has been very comfortable there. He's been down at the community area and he feels part of the place. They have good entertainment coordinators during the week. They have different activities for the residents even on weekends. They have an exercise room, outdoor spaces like a barbecue area, and places to walk around with pleasant surroundings.
