Provider Response
Connie, it was a pleasure having you, Sue and Cindy as our guest during your visit to CaraVita Village. Thank you for taking the time to review your experience at our community as well as your kind words. Being nestled in all of these trees and having a spacious park with several walking trails, does make it feel like we are more in the woods than a city. Between our beautiful grounds, being a gated community, having a 5-star chef and a wonderful staff that works daily to reassure our residents that they made the right decision to live at CaraVita, we feel makes us a wonderful option. I hope you thoroughly enjoy wherever you choose to move and are able to treat yourself to the occasional cheese biscuit at Red Lobster;)

Thank you for taking the time to let us know how we at CaraVita Village are doing. The staff works hard every day to make sure our residents are taken care of and that they feel right at home. CaraVita has been moving through a remodel for close to 2 years. The Covid virus has slowed that progress down a bit but now it is all hands on deck as our contractors are hard at work making sure all of the updating will be completed as soon as possible. Chef Jose is looking forward to again offering his assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables in our 24-hour pantry once Covid diminishes and it is safe to do so. We look forward to serving your mom for many years to come.

The newly remodeled CaraVita Village truly is “The Cruise That Never Leaves Port”! This 55+ Independent Living Seniors Community has a plethora of activities and events to keep their residents busy and entertained throughout each fun packed day. With an average resident age of 70, CaraVita has created a full spectrum of activities to accommodate everyone’s liking. Favorite activities range from Bingo to Adult Coloring to Black Jack (with CaraVita Dollars on the line) and even an Auction (where their CaraVita Dollars get our residents a variety of fun and useful items). With an extensive and well thought out Activities program that includes several monthly outings throughout the surrounding areas, CaraVita’s residents are able to custom fit each day to be “their” perfect balance of excitement and relaxation.
What places are nearby for independent living residents to enjoy?
CaraVita is about choices and options. Scheduled weekly trips to retailors, grocery stores, banks and even the post office allows residents to stay connected to their community and allow for a predictable and productive routine. Folks can set their clock for when the CaraVita bus will be at places like the Publics on Zelda or the Wal-Mart on Chantilly Parkway. Being able to count on regularly scheduled transportation for commerce needs allows CaraVita’s residents to plan their day around fun activities, family visits, and of course, the occasional afternoon nap.
What are some recent off-site events that the community activity director at CaraVita Village has organized?
Adrienne Merrill, the activity director, organizes many things off-site for the residents to do. The 'Luncheon Club' goes out to eat once a month at a restaurant of their choosing. The residents also love to go shopping, at Thrift Flea Markets, the Mall, etc. The off-site event highlights for this month include driving around to see Christmas Lights, as well as a trip to the Alabama Shakesphere Festival for a Christmas production.
What transportation services does CaraVita Village offer to independent living residents?
CaraVita residents are able to get out and about in their own vehicles or, if they so choose, to climb aboard CaraVita’s new bus, van or SUV and enjoy outings throughout the Tri-county area and beyond! Wheelchair accessible vehicles allow for CaraVita residents to experience everything from parks and museums to country drives and seasonal ventures to communities that are lit up with the wonder of Christmas.
What makes the chef or dining program at CaraVita Village exceptional? What kind of menu can independent living residents expect?
CaraVita’s Chef Jose Melendez sets the standard for enjoyable dining in the Montgomery area! Not only is Chef Jose a five-star chef but he attended culinary school next door in Atlanta GA and brings that Southern style cooking to the table of CaraVita’s residents. Expect the unexpected when Chef Jose stirs up a little bit of Southern tradition mixed with a dash of his own magic that has residents counting the minutes until their next dining experience!
What common areas are available for independent living residents?
CaraVita offers no shortage of areas to sit and relax. Several common areas are scattered through ought CaraVita including dedicated sitting areas and even poolside accommodations to ensure no one miss out on all of those beautiful Central Alabama mornings and evenings.
