"When my family first visited we were given a tour of certain floors, certain residential rooms, and activity areas. We all agreed that it was a good safe place for grandma. However after she was excepted we had to wait a week before visiting and when I went to visit she was sitting alone in the hallway and said she had been there for more than an hour by herself. The floor she was on had a stench of urine. She shared a room with another resident that she didn't get along with and somehow her dentures were lost.It was a horrible experience for my grandmother as well as the rest of my family. And it was almost impossible to re-place her in another facility because we had such strong complaints about previous. Not many other facilities wanted a family that was going to be so assertive about the way residents are cared for. Overall after visiting a few other homes I found that the first two floors are always the nicest and those are the ones that a family gets to tour. "

"I visited the facility on Randolph for memory care. I really liked it. We had a meal in the main dining hall. It was reported that the memory loss clients are integrated into the community. I like the apartment that would be available to my parent. It was reported that most of the stoves were not in use but the idea of my parent having their own kitchen was inviting. I appreciated that our guide/host reported that her own parent was at CE when she was alive. There was daily mass offered at the attached church and also at CE. The in house coffee shoppe and beautiful fireplace lounge and wide hallways seemed inviting in every nook. 2 medical staff took time to answer our questions and although they were busy were informative. Please see this facility just to compare to others as a baseline of what memory care can be like.. "

"Great facility, good caring staff. I have been there visiting once or twice a week for past two years and it is always clean and well maintained. The downside is the Gentle Touch medical support staff-a disappointment with their lack of professionalism and high price. "

"We have had our Mom there in the Memory Care unit for 2 years. The staff there are wonderful! They are so kind to my Mom and to us when we visit! My Mom enjoys the nurses so much. I live out of state and they are great with communication to me. We have Care conferences that are so helpful. Sholom Home West is the best!!"

"It's a wonderfull place for your parents to go They have so much to do do that before they know it time to go home I had many years since my three parents participated there and they had a ball socializing with people there age after my mom didn't go any more she keep asking when her day was that she went Staff care for them as they are there parents they do many fun outing All I can say check them out and you'll see"

" My mother stayed here 3 times this year after each one of her surgeries. The staff were really nice and helpful, especially one that stood out from the rest, her name was Lori Taylor and helped my mother really feel like she was at home. I highly recomend all of their services. "

"I found the development to be very well staffed for the amount of patients that were there. The patients received schedules for their daily activities, including time for activities such as occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, swimming, acupuncture, lunch, dinner, and more. I remember a couple patients had trouble reading and understanding their schedules, and also noticed the schedule sometimes was incorrect or not accurately communicated with me as a volunteer. With the exception of a few members of the staff, I did not feel very close or remembered with my weekly volunteering. Perhaps that was due to them having many volunteers, so I may have been seen as expendable. I was providing a lot of help to the patient however, so my time there was rewarding.The facility itself was magnificent. I was amazed with the building and with what was offered for disabled individuals. There are activities rooms with games, books and movies, common areas with television, laundry areas for those able and wanting to do their own, and a beautiful pathway to walk around outside with a quiet stream. The facility was well kept, clean, and well lit. Nursing staff seemed to always be readily available to patients and communicated with them on a friendly basis. "
