We are fairly new to Endearment, under a year. My wife is almost completely incapacitated with primary progressive multiple sclerosis. She needs personal care three times a day: getting up and ready for the day first thing in the morning, toileting and other services mid-afternoon, and put to bed at night. I too am disabled, so I am unable to do a lot of those things for her. We live in our own condo and hope to stay here. The staff of Endearment has been fine. All of them are capable. We have never experienced any less than well performed tasks such as washing, dressing, transfers using the Hoyer lift, etc. -- all the usual services performed by certified nurses assistants. All of the staff has been personable, friendly, in a word "nice" most of the time. The only reason I rate Endearment three stars instead of four is that from time to time reliability has been spotty; that is, assigned staff has not been available. On two occasions, my wife has been left to spend the night up to twenty-four hours in her wheel chair without care due to unavailability of staff. To her credit, more than once the manager has filled in and on one occasion drove back from Chicago, where she had been visiting with her family. Still, the occasional unavailability of services causes me to drop my rating from four stars to three.
