I cannot express enough how wonderful this company is. They were there when I needed them, with compassion and caring. The staff was just wonderful, my father felt very at home with them. They were there with me through his passing and made his final days at home a very wonderful experience. It was an experience I will forever be grateful for.

We're using Griswold Home Care of San Antonio for our parents, and it's been on shaky ground. They had one situation where a caregiver didn't show up for their shift at all. We're supposed to have one person for day shift and night shift, which is from 9:00 in the morning to 1:00 p.m. and from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. I've been requesting one person to be the consistent caregiver because my mother has dementia and she has problems with so many different people coming in. This morning was supposed to be the caregiver's first day, but she called out. There's a lot of miscommunication between the caregivers and their administration. The administration was been given the key code to their house, but one caregiver ended up knocking and ringing the doorbell. So my mom had to get up, and they're not supposed to get up and get the door because my father is not ambulatory and my mother needs assistance with her walker. When this person came in, my mother was agitated. I drove back across the city to come to her place and get my mom to calm down so the person could come in. I said to the administration I wanted someone who's aware of dementia and someone who's patient. They're not communicating with their caregivers. I even leave notes for the day and night shift workers to explain how I want them to be cared for. They don't have consistent help. These caregivers live in the vicinity so it's less likely that you're going to get people who are going to have travel issues.

My husband has Lewy Body dementia and is now unable to stay at home alone. As I work full-time, I researched several home care agencies, and initially went with another company. However, I was not happy with the office staff or the providers they sent. During that time, a neighbor who uses Griswold highly recommended them, so I called them. Their staff is extremely friendly and efficient, their price is lower than the other company, and the care provider they sent to us is nothing short of amazing. I don't know what I would do without her. She goes above and beyond to provide wonderful care for my husband, to include making great home cooked meals, making sure he takes his meds, making sure he gets exercise, keeping the house spotless, and even watering the plants. In fact, I'm afraid to ask, but I suspect if my husband had to choose, he might just send me packing! I highly recommend Griswold as a company that provides great service, from their office staff to their quality caregivers.
