"I called Right at Home -Plainview to arrange for aides to help me with my terminally ill husband. Right from the start I knew I had found the right place. Eileen and Gregg spent a considerable amount of time not only answering my many questions and addressing my many concerns but also trying to get to know my and my husband’s needs so they could find the right aides. We needed 24/7 and decided that the best arrangement for us was to have one aide for four days and another for three. Dorothy met us when we came home from the hospital. She knew immediately what to do and did everything in a professional and efficient manner. As the days went on I found her to not only be kind, knowledgeable, and dedicated but also concerned about our entire family. The first weekend (the three day shift) was not as successful. The aide did not meet our needs. A call to Gregg on Monday was handled in the best possible way. He did not offer excuses or try to encourage me to try another weekend. He immediately (didn’t even wait for me to list all my complaints) said not to worry he would send someone else the following weekend and he did. Jean was just as perfect as Dorothy. Not only was I pleased with both Dorothy and Jean, but more importantly my husband was. In addition to Dorothy and Jean, Tina, the nurse who was assigned to my husband, was an extremely caring and competent professional. She not only came to examine my husband and to provide support to Dorothy and Jean but also to me. When we were unable to get hospice to come, Tina came on short notice to help us. "We began using A Better Care Option in 2017 when the elderly friend for whom we are responsible was discharged from hospital. She is wheelchair-bound, incontinent, suffers from some dementia, which can make her difficult to deal with, and requires 24/7 care. The aides (two of whom have been with her for several years now) have taken excellent care of our friend. They are reliable, kind, caring and competent. They are very patient with her quirks and with her occasional flashes of temper. She is well-fed, clean, comfortable and content. The aides are prompt to report issues that come up (e.g., prescriptions need refilling, possible medical problems) and are extremely responsible overall. On the few occasions when there has been a problem, Simon has taken swift action to find a new aide and/or resolve the problem. He has been able to provide competent, caring aides to cover while a regular aide is on vacation or is out sick. I recommend this company highly for the quality of the aides they hire and the quality of care the aides and the company’s administrators provide. The level of concern and richness of information that Simon provides is also outstanding."
