They offer a wide range of things because my mother didn't necessarily need someone to bathe her and this and that. I was looking for companionship and physical things, walking, and helping her cook. I like the person that comes. We're doing four to six hours, three to four times a week. Thus far it has been the same caregiver. She likes my mother. I haven't had a problem with the agency. "We used Senior Helpers in Southwest Connecticut for just two weeks. We only needed somebody to help bathe my son because he could not get into the tub or a shower. So, he was getting just a sponge bath. That's all because he feeds himself, I cook, and I do everything. I didn't need any help with housework or shopping or anything like that. I just needed somebody to give him a sponge bath, and they were very good. I just got billed after two weeks. The scheduling was fine. I would recommend them. The person I had was on time. She helped me as much as I needed help. I just got her for three hours, which was more than enough, because what I just needed was somebody for one hour."

"I'm working with Right at Home. They're like saviors. My friend is 90, and she is very, very difficult, and they're amazing with her. What happened was my friend was on her own in the apartment; she lives by herself. She fell and went to the hospital, and the hospital said, 'You can't go home alone, you need 24-hour coverage.' We hired Right at Home to come and do that. I interviewed them before that in anticipation that we might need somebody to come in, so I knew of the organization. I was impressed by the interview, so much so that when this happened, we just called Right at Home and they got people to come in 24 hours. My friend got better and so we were able to cut that back. Now, one of those 24-hour people has continued to work Monday through Friday seven hours a day. This woman is wonderful. My friend loves her. She's really terrific. She absolutely loves this woman that is helping her now. She's very, very comfortable. I know that more and more she allows the caregiver more exposure to her needs, so it's very good really. Also the staff at this particular office in White Plains are really superior. The way they handle everything is just incredible. I can't compare them to anyone else but I don't really need to because they have been so helpful to me just having to deal with a person that has dementia. They'll spend time on the phone with me; they really are terrific."
