We visited Oakwood Terrace while in the area checking out facilities for our uncle. The building exterior looked well tended, as did the nicely landscaped and manicured trees, walkways, seating areas and lawns. There was a nice vibe and though we hadn't an appointment, the staff graciously allowed us to take a tour. They can handle a variety of ambulation levels. They attend to the resident's needs well and can accommodate changes in care as needed. This facility's ample community rooms allow for seniors to participate in many stimulating activities, such as physical exercise, games, crafts, music, events, reading and general socializing. The fitness center was well maintained and included everything the seniors need to get exercise in a safe way. From equipment to classes and private instruction - it was a very impressive setup. Dining rooms were spacious with great meals that looked well prepared and smelled delicious. The menus include a variety of well-thought out options and they will make special requests, as well. The healthy snacks are offered all day and whenever desired. Private living spaces were generously and efficiently designed with beautiful decorations, fresh air and light. The outside activities include the region's cultural events like music, art, libraries and film venues. Many events are also hosted and held in the facility for the seniors. This is a nicely designed, service oriented living environment where aere treated well, with dignity and respect, by kind and caring staff.
