"I am currently in the Village at Victory Lakes. You start with independent care; then you go to assisted living; then you go to the other levels of care. The food is satisfactory. I wouldn't say it was great, but it's four meals a day. We start with breakfast and end with an evening meal. You can take it to your room or eat at the dining room (we have dining rooms here). The staff members are very, very nice people; I don't think there could be anyone that is nicer. They're very courteous and caring. My biggest complaint is the finances. I haven't been to others, but this place is very expensive for independent care. I'm paying $5,000 a month, and I've been here for a long long time; that's $60,000 a year. The activities are very limited. We're very lonesome; there's nothing going on here that would keep the people occupied and caring. We have what we call enrichment programs. There are branches here hired specifically to get seniors out of their rooms. We tried Wii bowling, bingo, book reading, and playing cards. They don't take you to show you shows, and we don't even get to play golf off the complex. It's demoralizing."

"We moved my grandma in August. I visited her a couple of times. I think it’s very clean. They give more care than she needs now. It’s assisted living, but everyone has individual rooms. The room is like a little studio room. She has a bed, and she can fit a couple of chairs in there. She has her own bathroom with a shower, and she has a little sink with a mini refrigerator. They have one dining room. She says that she enjoys the food. My grandma is very happy. They do activities with them, take them on field trips, and go different places. They bring in special speakers -- like they had one that came in and talked about how women in the civil war dressed and acted. There are a couple of other community centers like that in the same company and every month they have a special activity where they’ll join one of the centers. Sometimes they bring in people who play live music. "

"I was really impressed with Home Harbor Racine. It was very well-maintained, clean and gorgeous. The apartments were really nice. I liked it the best of all the places. I think all of the apartments are on the first floor and they have sliding glass doors that go out on patios. The staff who gave me the tour was great, took her time, and answered all my questions. She was wonderful. I would put my dad at this place if he needs it."

"I had an in-person tour and it was very good. The staff showed me a room that was going to be available, and they told me some of the things that were going on. But what I want is not available yet, so we have to wait a little while. Other than that it was very informative for me and helped in my decision. The facility was very clean. It was lunchtime, and they were very busy helping the patients get their lunch. When people in the memory care unit were asking questions they were always answered in a positive way. The aids were not affected by being asked the same questions. They were never rude to the patients, which was very nice. The staff was friendly. Everybody was doing their job. It was a very nice facility. Even the room that I got to see seemed to be quite adequate, and something that I would feel comfortable having my husband go to."

It was a little bit more of an industrial location, which was the one negative we had, but the community itself was very nice, clean, and friendly. It was very well maintained."

"The Cornerstone of Oak Creek was the only one that we actually went to. Everyone seemed friendly. They take residents on excursions or outside as well as hold daily activities inside. They had a nice porch out in the back to sit, and a little garden. They had a big dining area, and the rooms were of average size. They had a different variety of rooms, including some two-bedrooms and some singles. We visited a gentleman who’s been there for about six years, and he was pretty happy with the place so that was a good endorsement. "

"I toured the Layton Terrace Senior Community. I liked it. It was very nice, but it wasn't what I was looking for. It didn't have the amenities that I was looking for. I just visited with the person in charge, and she was wonderful. She explained everything that they had and showed me around the nice room. Most of them were full, so we had to depend on one of the residents to allow us to come into their apartments to look at them. They were all very accommodating. They were all very friendly. They were all very nice. The dining area was very nice. It was just a very nice size for the amount of people that were there. It wasn't a crowded place."

"Oak Park Place Oak Creek was beautiful. It was very new, super clean, and gorgeous. It was a wonderful, wonderful place. If I had to make a decision today where to put my mother tomorrow, that is where she would go. There was a library, several meeting rooms, a beautiful dining room, a bistro, separate rooms that you could use along with your family, and an area for toddlers to play. It was wonderful. The staff who gave the tour was excellent, very well-informed, and very personable. It was just great. They had a beauty salon. It was my favorite community. It was the best."
