Brookdale Park Place is great. They check on me. They have a beautiful place. I'm very happy. I have a two-room apartment and a bathroom and laundry facilities and everything. They do housekeeping and all kinds of stuff. So, I'm really pleased with it. I haven't been in any of the activities yet, but I get three meals a day. We have cocktail hours on Wednesdays, a library, computer rooms, and arts and crafts. It's just a wonderful place. We have a wonderful chef. He and I have talked with him on several occasions. I graduated from culinary school so he and I have a lot to talk about. I like to cook, and he likes it, and his food is excellent. I think they are fabulous.

We went to Brookdale Park Place. They are using an older facility that's been repurposed and the problem there is the rooms are very small. We could not fit into one of their apartments. Some people could, but we're coming from a four-bedroom house and that's a lot of downsizing for us. Things were left in the hallway because they couldn't fit them in. The building is old, and although we like character in old buildings, I felt it showed its age. Because it's old and has been added on to, getting around felt to me rather maze like. I feel like it would take a while to figure out how to get from one section of the building to another. The staff was very friendly.

I toured Brookdale Park Place two and a half years ago. I went to see the independent living part of it. The people were so nice and so informative. They told me everything about the place and gave me a grand tour. It was really good. They were just so willing to help you and work with you in anything you needed. Their food was good too. It seemed like the place needed new carpet in the hallways. It's understandable because there are so many people there with electric scooters and walkers so if they go outside, they bring a lot of dirt in on their wheels so it would be hard to keep it clean.

I went to Brookdale Park Place. The staff was wonderful. They were very friendly and kind, so the welcoming was great. They provided the meals and the transportation, and they provided activities to do. Those were some of the most important things for my friend, so it was good. The person who gave the tour was wonderful. She explained everything.

We toured Brookdale Park Place. It's a very old building. It has a lot of history to it. Everything was serviceable. Everything worked. It was not beyond repair. The rooms were small. The community living area where everybody gets together, was big, that was spacious, and that was more than adequate. It was a nice place, but it would have worked if it wasn't in Washington. We bumped into the maintenance man in the hallway, and he was friendly. The person who assisted during the tour was good. They are all good that way.

I toured Brookdale Park Place. The people in the home were very friendly. It was a nice facility, very clean, and very modern. They had a very nice dining room and good food. You could use a scooter in the halls if you wanted. The rooms were pretty spacious, and nice views out the windows. The staff was very nice and very accommodating. They gave us lunch there, and it was excellent. It was better than some restaurants I've been to.

The price point at Brookdale Park Place was good for independent living. The apartment was bright and felt large. They seemed like they had a good program for engaging the seniors in activities. What I didn't like was that the building seemed like they were not in great repair. I didn't like the fact that there wasn't central air conditioning. They had to have air conditioning units pulled in and pulled out seasonally. The apartments themselves seemed a little dirty to me. Even the ones that they were showcasing and the closet storage was not great. I looked at the menus, and from what I could see it had a great, varied menu. I just did not like the fact that you are limited as independent living. You only got two meals there as opposed to three.

I really like Brookdale Park Place. I like the way it was set up. I like the fact that they have a lot of community where they draw people in. Everybody seemed to have a little group area where they hung out. The facility was very clean. Everything was in really good condition. The apartments were nice. The floor was nice. If you wanted to throw rugs or something, there's plenty of room for it. If you're sharing a room they have really nice partitions, so you have your own closet and space. As far as the facility goes, I think it's really nice and great. The only thing that I didn't like was the price.

My mom moved into Brookdale Park Place. They had a wide variety of options for her, which ended up being important, because when we got there the one that she had chosen ended up being too small. But they had several other options that were larger and weren't much more expensive. They made the change while we were moving into the new apartment, so they were very flexible. It was a very good experience overall. The staff has bent over backwards to help us out. They let us move into the new apartment after my mom changed her mind and did the paperwork over there. When I went to first view it myself, the main person was sick, so they found somebody who had been there for 26 years who knew the history of the place, gave me the tour, and showed me four or five different apartments. It was very nice the entire time. I trust the location for my mom now. The waitstaff knew my mom's name, and they were very patient when she was trying to choose things from the menu, which, by the way, was very good. Everybody there is fantastic, from janitors to utility people, to the administration. They play poker and do other activities, including field trips to different places, and grocery shopping as well. The value my mom got for this apartment was significantly better than many of the other places I had seen and researched.

We went to tour Brookdale Park Place. There were lots of different apartment floor plans to choose from. We looked at the 2-bedroom apartment, and it didn't smell old when we walked in. Mary toured us around, and she was very knowledgeable and very helpful. She knew pricing pretty much off the top of her head. It seemed like there were lots of activities going on. The facility was in a nice setting, clean, and very friendly. It was older, but it was well taken care of. They had a laundry room, although some of the apartments also had washers and dryers in their units. There was a hair salon, a physical therapy room, a library, and a computer room. There were some open spaces with a lamp and a couple of chairs on different wings, kind of set out away from everything else if you just wanted a quiet place to read outside of your apartment. Three meals were served every day, and they had happy hour every Friday. They also had games, dominoes, cards, and puzzles.

I was able to tour Brookdale Park Place. They had really nice rooms and I liked that. The place was just a little big for my dad to learn it, and I felt like he wouldn't get to know the people around him as well as where he is now. They had more stuff for him to do there, but the staff wasn't as personal as his current small community. It seemed overpriced though, it seemed very expensive. They offered that I try the food, but I wasn't able to. The staff who took me on the tour was nice. The reason why I didn't choose that place was that it felt like it was very much a sales pitch. They were telling me all of the amazing stuff, and I wanted the reality. The facility itself looked really nice and there were a lot of options on what to do. There was a salon, it was in a nature area, and there were lots of walking areas.

Brookdale Park Place had nice rooms. They didn't have full kitchens, but they feed you three times a day. We met their chef and the food smelled good and made you hungry. The staff went the extra mile to show my friend everything. They had good sized rooms. They had a small refrigerator and a microwave, but as far as the kitchen goes, it was like a kitchenette type deal. They have community washroom facilities, and it didn't cost you anything. There was snow on the grounds still, but those things that were usually open in the spring and summer were covered, so they take care of their outdoors very well. It's a big place. They've got activities to do and transportation. They don't have lift capability on their vehicles. My friend runs around on a scooter and they don't have any ability for her to ride on her buses. She has to climb up the stairs or be able to climb up the stairs on a bus. They've got a parking area. The facilities were excellent, real good, and real clean. They said they had to put a cleaning crew in the apartment that we looked at, but they took real good care of them because they weren't dirty at all. It was very clean and it looked like the rugs had already been shampooed for me.

I had an in-person tour of Brookdale Park Place. Everyone was very polite, friendly, and professionally well-dressed. They had two bedrooms, one bedrooms, and studios. There was a large variety of rooms to choose from, so that was nice, and they were spacious. The showers and all of that were not complicated. The views were nice. They have like a natural mountain hill behind them, and wildlife comes down off the hill into their courtyard. The courtyard was large. The sunrooms for sitting and reading were very pretty. They had a library, a sitting room, and a craft room that the tenants could go to. They were very colorful and vivacious. We were considering them as the number one place for my parents. The dining area was very elegant and pretty. They have a menu that they get to order off of. I saw a couple of residents putting a puzzle together. But when I went there, they were on lockdown from the flu, and they take it very seriously. If anyone comes down with a communicable disease like that, they lock them down, and then they serve their meals to them instead of everybody milling around and getting sick, so that was good. I like the atmosphere, its cleanliness, and the people.

Brookdale Park Place was very clean and well taken care of. It's an older facility, and so they're doing a lot of updated work, but it was in very good shape. The staff was very friendly and very nice. I got to speak with some of the residents that are currently living there, and they had wonderful things to say as well about living there. I thought it was just a really nice place. I looked at four separate apartments and they had a huge variety in floorplans, and a few of the apartments were not set up very well. It's an old brick building and a few of the bathrooms and the kitchens were not greatly user friendly for an older individual, but they did the best that they could do with the structure of the facility. The staff during the tour was fabulous. I was invited last week to a holiday dinner, but it hasn't worked with my schedule. I went down to the dining hall and that's where I met several of the residents, and the food looked very good and the residents gave it very good reviews. They're constantly doing repairs just because of the age of the facility.

I toured Brookdale Park Place. What I liked about it are the rooms. The rooms are so much better than other places even the memory care rooms. They're just better, especially in assisted living. They're roomier and cozier. It's like a small apartment, either studio or a one-bedroom apartment or something like that. The one that we're planning to put my mother in here soon (we already kind of signed up and did that) is like a little small studio. It's all that my mother needs. In assisted living, you have a small microwave, a refrigerator, and a sink, too. The staff is willing to answer your questions and everything really easy and they take their time. The staff who toured us was patient. She answered questions. She was friendly and addressed concerns. I like that it's a nice clean environment compared to other places. It's comfortable and spacious. I like the cleanliness and how much space there is and everything.

Brookdale Park Place is an older community. It's a beautiful setting. It's like a 100-year-old building. It is very nice. It was better than the other facility, that's for sure. The rooms were spacious. They had a full meal plan. The rooms had only a very small, modest kitchen, so the intent was that the residents eat in the community setting, so that was very different. It was clean, and the rooms were good sized except for that little kitchen. The hallways were good, clean, and well-lit. They had working elevators, which was good. So overall, it was a pretty decent place. The staff who gave me the tour was very nice, outgoing, and has contacted me afterward several times. The dining area was huge. They have their own chef. I saw the residents eating lunch. I was offered lunch there, but I did not eat it. They had plenty to eat. They had dessert, they had vegetables, they had spaghetti, meatballs, and salads. They had a big kitchen to support it, and they had people out there serving, so it was a thorough offering.

We visited Brookdale Park Place. The intake staff was very pleasant, knowledgeable, very caring, and helpful. They continue to help me even though we're not ready for that level of care yet. Once we had determined that my aunt is not ready for that level of care, we didn't go far into the amenities. I didn't want to take up too much of their time, but they have been helpful to me via the phone for just general information (even after my tour, and even after we decided she wasn't ready for that facility yet). It's been very helpful.

I visited Brookdale Park Place. Overall, the place is good. The staff is very educational and friendly. The facility is clean. The apartments were spacious and comfortable. They have outdoor activities and game-room facilities. Due to COVID, the cafeteria was closed. They are on the outskirts of Spokane Valley; it was a little off of a main street. The place seemed very soothing and comfortable.

Brookdale Park Place was really nice but it was a really, really bad experience because the main lady who runs the place was really, really rude to us. I brought my baby to take a tour and she basically told me that I had to leave and was very, very upsetting that she acted that way, so definitely the least and honest star that I could give is what I would give them because of that. It was really bad and it made us feel really weird. It was nice but an older building. There's one lady that was really nice, but the main lady was really bad.

We lived in Brookdale Park Place for a couple of months, but it didn't work out for us. They assist you with what they want to assist you with, not with what you need. The two-bedroom apartment we had was satisfactory and roomy, and we had no problem with it. The food was very good, although it was the same old same old. They could have done a little better with the things going on, it's a little too routine. If you look at the activities this week, it's the same as last week except for the dates. There wasn't much going on as far as taking the residents out. There was a Saint Patrick's parade. They could have taken some seniors to that on the bus, so it's kind of a boring experience. It wasn't so bad for us because we have a car. We can go somewhere whenever we want, and if we get tired of the food we can eat elsewhere, but a lot of the residents there can't do the same. They have a dog over there, and they also allow you to have pets. We were up on the third floor, which meant we have to go down to the elevator. We would take the dogs out for the last time before we sleep, and it was tough because you had to be dressed to do that. We were trying to get somebody to take the dogs out, but the staff didn't do that. Then they said they would do that but they would charge us $6 a month. Most of the activities were with a computer. They had music and singing along with the computer. I play the piano, so when I was there I would play the piano and people would come in and sing or dance. We were there three months, and there were people from outside maybe only three times. They can reach out into the community, and get people to come in and provide a little bit of variety. Every Tuesday you can get your nails done, and there's a meeting club although nobody went to it. It was very boring, although there's a lot that can be done with to make it nicer. They have printed menu every day, and three of the five entrees they offer were the same every day. There's not much variety and on the three months we were there we never had a green salad. They need to do something with the security doors, they lock them at around 7:30 at night, but they don't work properly. The feeling I got is that they kind of nickel-and-dime you. They deliver meals to you, and then after half a month they would charge you $5.50 for each meal for each person delivered. The meals were cold, so it was really bad. You'd get a slice of pie, and it would be in a Styrofoam cup and be a sliver of a slice.

Brookdale Park Place is fine, but it's too much money. The room I saw was tidy. The staff was friendly, but they don't like people just dropping in like I did. They have everything that's necessary. They have a dining room and a lobby. The place was clean and well taken care of.

Brookdale Park Place was a big, nice place, and the rooms were very beautiful, but I think my mom would have gotten lost in there because it was a very big place and not what I was looking for. They had a lot of activities like discussion groups, exercises, and arts and crafts. The staff was pleasant.

My mother stayed for 3 months at Brookdale Park Place. They seem to be really nice people, and the place was very clean and very well-organized. However, they have a lot of hired young women who are very attentive to all their residents, but they charge $20 for everything they do. If they see you walking somewhere, they'd help you, and before long, $20 is on your bill. They do help you with shower and straightening up -- which is something you ask them to do -- so you're happy to pay the $20. When you're walking somewhere or carrying laundry to the laundry room, they'd go "Let me help you," and since the residents are elderly, they'd think they're just being nice. But my mother's bill in one month's time was $500. She also fell in her apartment. Her light was on, the string for her call button broke. and she was on the floor all night. Nobody came the entire night even when the emergency light was on. They found her the next morning and sent her to the hospital. The people seemed really nice, and it's a beautiful facility, but they didn't attend to my mom when she had an emergency; people go by that room at all times because it's on the way to the dining room, and it’s not very far from the front desk.

Brookdale Park Place was wonderful, but we did not get to see a room. We got to eat there, and the food was fabulous. The place was very clean, and they had proud, well-mannered, and well-trained staff. The residents seemed very happy, content, and a nice class of people. The dining room was wonderful. It even had tablecloths, which was very pleasant. I loved the country-like atmosphere. It was an old sanitarium, built back in the '20s or '30s and was in a wonderful, old brick building. The new part is the assisted living, but I just loved the old atmosphere and the surroundings. It looked like a big park.

Brookdale Park Place is the place we would probably use if we had to choose, but my parents thought the two-bedroom was a little too small and weren’t receptive to it at all. Everybody was friendly. I went out of my way and shook hands with the elderly gentlemen that were there. I was extremely happy with everything. They had an in-house beauty salon, movie room, arts and crafts room, and a library. Their cafeteria was outstanding. They had more activities than I can even recall. I would recommend it to anybody.

The people at Brookdale Park Place are very professional and provide good service. Everybody is so helpful and caring. It has a very homey atmosphere. Mom’s room is very nice and somewhat small but has everything that she needs. They have activities every day, like cards, quilting, pizza parties, popcorn socials, and dances. I have tried their food, and it is very good. Mom likes the food, too. The staff is very caring, always on top of everything, and has top-notch work ethics.

Brookdale Park Place was very nice. The building itself is historic. It was the old TB Sanitarium; they remodeled it and are still doing some more remodeling now. It was right across the street from a park. They were very friendly and very nice people. It was very affordable, and they had a number of different types of apartments. It had a separate assisted living and they stair step from the standpoint of being independent and help you as much as they can as you go through your aging process. If they have to do more services for you, they provide them for a fee, but keep you independent as long as possible. When it is no longer possible to keep you in independent, they do move you over to the assisted living facility. They had lots of activities, which were reasonable. I seriously consider it as a home when needed. The rooms were spacious -- which had a stove and appliances -- and they were comfortable. Some of them have balconies, some didn't. They start serving food at a time in the morning, and they never shut down the diner. You can come in at 10:00 and get your breakfast. They were very flexible on the food.

My wife has been in Brookdale Park Place for over a month now. They seem to be doing a good job, and I don't have any complaints. She is in a mental ward, and right now she is getting hospice benefits. The meals are good. She can't escape, and she is adjusting pretty well. It's a beautiful setting, and it is well manicured. They have a lot of programs for the people who live there.

My parents are at Park Place. The main reason why we picked this place is that the room that was available looked out into the woods, and my parents really missed living in the woods. They are very nice and very well organized as well. The staff seemed to be very attentive. The thing my mother was interested in was that she loves to sing, and they have music. They have church services, too, and that also attracted both of them.

Other than some of the amenities being a little dated, I was impressed with what Park Place had to offer. If I was to move my mom someplace out this way, it probably would have been in Park Place. It has a close association with a nursing home nearby, and they handle a lot of people with different physical and mental needs. I was super impressed by the lady that showed me the campus and things. She was professional and genuinely caring on whether my mom would be a fit there. I was really impressed by her and the community. The rooms that I saw I felt were kept up well, but it is kind of an aging facility, or at least the building that I saw wasn't real modern. There were a lot of different sizes in the layout of the room. They were kept up well, but there was just not a lot of uniformity to the size. The main dining room area was very well kept. Other than being an older facility with less uniformity in the rooms, they were kept in good conditions. The main dining room was clean and well organized, and the residents looked happy. I haven't had a meal there, although I was invited to. If I was to make a second visit to decide whether or not to move a family member there, I would most definitely have a meal. I didn't get a calendar, but these places all kind of run a similar kind of thing. I think they actually have a mobile library come in and setup within their dining area which is something new to me. They also have a chorus like a choir that the residents can join. It seems like they have a good social calendar. They having different levels of care from very independent to kind of assisted living to more dependent impressed me the most. It was impressive to me that they would do both manage medication -- which they deliver to the residents -- as well as a med box for the residents that were more independent. They would offer the service of stocking a weekly med box. The continuum of care and the medication management impressed me the most. The campus looks kind of like a college campus with well-kept grounds.

We met with one of the administrators of Park Place, and we just really liked how she interacted. She gave us a really nice tour. We asked questions, and they are really good about answering everything. The staff is great. We love the people who cook. They come out and interact with the people and talk with them. It is just great. We just love it because they are all really friendly. They had a great welcome team for mom. They had some people at her door the first morning she was there encouraging her to come out for breakfast, and she is really doing well there. She has only been there for about a week and a half. The facility is just really nice. They have a lot of places for the people to sit during the day. There are people playing games or doing puzzles at a table. There is always a counter with fruits, cookies, coffee, and tea. They have activities like Wii Bowling tournaments, exercises, and art programs.

Park Place is a big place, and the people that I talked to on the staff were very creative. The ones I got to talked to were in the office and one supervisor was very courteous, and they gave me a lot of information. I talked to others that lived there, and they liked it. They have their own dining room. The room that I saw was a little bit smaller, but it has a bed in the front room. I have heard that you have to go out to another place for laundry. It looked clean to me.

Park Place is an older brick-type building with lovely grounds. There were a lot of great things about it, but I didn’t choose it because of the price. The staff was not straightforward; they did not give us all the information, and when we took my mother there, she liked the place and we were going to fill out the paperwork to have her lived there and they said she would have to pay on her own utilities so we said no. They were dishonest about that at the beginning. We needed to be sure that everything is known, and they need to do some remodeling over there. Each person pays $4000 a month; they should at least put in new carpeting and paint the walls, because it smells like an old building.

We are sorry to hear your experience is less than what you expected. As you can see by the other reviews here, that is not usually the case. We apologize for any confusion about the monthly rent and utilities. We would be happy to discuss them with you for a better understanding. Also, we are excited to let you know that Park Place is in line to have further renovation in 2015!

Park Place was very favourable and the staff seemed very good. The rooms seemed very clean and it is a very nice layout. I like the fact that it was really clean and the layout was very accessible to somebody that is in a wheelchair and they were very friendly. It’s a multiple-story building but it has elevators and wide halls, and it was good.

Park Place is an older facility, and I didn’t particularly care for this place when I visited it. I wasn’t impressed with the rooms. They were small, and it had kind of a funky smell. It looked clean, but it didn’t smell clean. The salesman guy was really high pressure. They call you and call you, so it bugged me, and I really don’t like that at all.

Park Place was another very nice looking facility. It was a very large place. The sanitation and layout of the place looked good. The two drawbacks would be: the price was considerably higher than where my mom was staying, and my mother would be sharing a room with another person. However, the room was fairly large. The place looked very clean and the staff was very friendly. They had a very nice, large dining room.

Dad is in Park Place. We choose because it is close by and recommended by others. He is able to get around the facility a little easier. It is very clean and very organized. The nursing staff is hopeful and cooperative. They are great. He is living in a one-bedroom apartment. He has a small kitchen facility complete with refrigerator, a small microwave and a small sink. He has a full bath with walk-in shower and a lot of bar to enable him to use the bath and shower. It is a basic apartment but complete for his needs. The dining room is very nice. My dad was not satisfied with the food at first, but they have a better chef and things have improved. They bring his food in his room where he eats because he is self-conscious as he is having difficulty holding his fork and feed himself. They have tons of activities. They have buses to go to doctor's appointments, if needed. They have outings and they go to different parks, museums and even Christmas lights sightings. They also have interior activities. They have an activity room and they encourage all residents to go and participate in exercises, newspaper readings, bingo and movies. They have everything to promote friendships and camaraderie. This is his first place of residents and so far, it's been great. We have no complaints.

The guy from Park Place gave us a tour and he was able to answer all of the questions that we had for him. We had a pretty good feeling about this facility. They showed us a couple of actual places that people live in. One area was clean but quite old. It was like a remodeled hospital area. And then there was another area that was much newer and seemed a lot nicer. Their staff seemed very adequate. There were also some stuff for residents to do there and it seemed like they were extended on both sides too. In other words, you can live there independently and then they also have the assisted living area. I thought Park Place was doing a very good job of servicing their residents.

The staff at Park Place were very helpful and very knowledgeable. They knew some information on how she could get additional money from the VA. They were unbelievably wonderful. When we visit there, the staff knew every single resident and in fact would greet them by their names. They had a welcoming program when mom got in there. Their activities were also awesome. They have movie nights, go to outings, have picnics for the residents as well as their families. I would highly recommend them to others. What I also liked about this facility is that mom is at the independent living right now, but if she needs to go to assisted living, it would still be in the same facility.

My dad is at Park Place and I think it's a fine place. It's more than what he needs. I think there maintenance is doing a good job. The staff are very nice. My dad doesn't like the food. My dad likes more options with regards to the men. The apartments are really, really small also.

We visit my mother in law at Park Place every few months. The grounds are lovely and park like, my children enjoy spending time outside each time we visit. the staff is very friendly as well. The most important part, my mother in law loves living at Par Place. She is very found of her living space and enjoys eating meals in the dinning room. Even more than that living at the Park has given her a feeing of safety and comfort that we all wish for those we love. In the time that she has lived at Park Place, she has made new friends. She now enjoys an active social life. All in all we have been very please with Park Place and would recommend it to anyone looking for a safe, secure, lovely, friendly home for themselves or a loved one. We look forward to the next time we visit Park Place.
