I have moved into Lighthouse Pointe by Barclay House. I'm very happy here. The people are friendly. The food is good. I'm all settled in. I like the way my room is set up. There are activities going on. It's just a lovely place for me to be. My experience so far has been excellent. The staff members are very helpful and friendly. They're very helpful in giving us good food. It's beautiful here. It's expensive, but everywhere is. Housekeeping has done a terrific job. They've made me feel welcome. It is also in the area where I wanted to live. It's near friends that I have. It just fits my current lifestyle.

My mother-in-law has moved into Lighthouse Pointe by Barclay House. She's in independent care, but they have a company there that we can pay, have a contract per month, and they check on her every couple of hours and make sure they order her food. She can't get to the dining room on her own. She is in independent care, but she broke her arm and needs help. She doesn't sleep in a bed. She can't lie down flat, so she sleeps in an electric recliner, and it's set up like a cute little living room kind of thing. It's the same size as my den. It's got a nice-sized bathroom, and it's roomy enough for her to get in and move around in with a walker. The living room is big enough to move around with a walker. It has a balcony on it. It's open air. It's got lots of windows. The kitchenette has just a little sink, a microwave, a little coffee pot, and that's about it. It's got three closets in it, which I love. She's got one of the smaller units. There are two or three different sizes there, and they are all very nice. Before you move in, they remodel them and paint them, and she had new carpet, new flooring, and new amenities in the bathroom. They did a nice job. For her, it's really nice. The food is excellent. We've eaten a lot of meals with her. They bring the food to her; that's part of the extra money we pay through that other company, but they forget silverware occasionally. They forget little stuff, but for the most part, the food is good, and we haven't had a bad meal yet. Everybody is extremely friendly and helpful. We needed an extra handrail in the bathroom, and they came in and sized it up to how she gets off the toilet, and they came in and maintenance put it up for us the next day. I am extremely pleased with everything about it. Parking is a little tough some days. You have to park out a little further, but for the most part, it's great. I highly recommend it. They have puzzle stations all over the place. They play cards and different things. They have activities that come through. It's very clean.

My mom will move into Lighthouse Pointe by Barclay House. The facility itself is very nice. It was very clean, and you can tell that it was well-maintained. I liked that it had been around for a while. We looked at nice newer facilities, but one of the things that stood out was that it was at least a 15-year-old facility. Everything seemed to work, and everything was in good condition. The residents we saw seemed happy and cared for, independent, and moving around. It seemed like the place we were looking for. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. They seemed happy in their jobs.

I toured Lighthouse Pointe by Barclay House. The man who was giving me the tour, the lady, came up to him and was concerned about something. He excused himself to take care of what the lady was worried about. I like the idea that they are concerned about everybody living there. It seemed friendly there, and the living space was bigger.

We toured Lighthouse Pointe by Barclay House. It was acceptable, but we didn't see much activity appear to be going on among the people there. I noticed they were having a meal and they just kind of spread out, and it didn't seem like there was much interaction between the people. We didn't see the interaction of the staff with the other people. The staff who took us around was very talkative and interested in asking a lot of questions and everything, and he did a fine job, but the atmosphere there was different. The only thing we did like was the arrangement of the rooms. It has a little better use of space. The facility was nice and clean.

I toured Lighthouse Pointe by Barclay House. It was wonderful. It would probably be my first choice if we went in that direction because of the location and the setting that it was in. I also interviewed residents who were sitting on the porch there and spoke with them, and they all loved it. I only met with one person, a gentleman named Kristoff. He was great and spent about three hours with me.

The staff was very warm in greeting me. The residents seemed pretty happy. The walking tour was very descriptive, and the tour guide was very efficient in answering all my questions. The bedroom units were very clean and the layouts were very efficient for seniors. I loved the fact that they had balconies and porches. The amenities were great. They had an on-site physical therapist. They had almost a 3-star fine dining restaurant-style dining room. They had games and activities, and they had a nice reading area. They had a shuttle service. They would provide maid services two times a week.

Lighthouse Pointe was a nice facility. For my mother's needs, it was accommodating. To me, that's more for independent seniors. But it's a beautiful facility and has beautiful staff. Very pleasant. I definitely would recommend them to other families, especially if they have a senior that's a little more active and a little more independent. I think they would find them to be a good option for them. The rooms were nice. They had rooms with bathrooms in them. The one that I looked at did not have any appliances at all. But they had a beautiful dining hall, and they offered snacks and things like that. You can tell the building was very well maintained. Just from the location itself, it was located in a very beautiful section of Chesapeake. The staff came in on his day off to do the tour for me, and I was impressed with that. The staff that was there on the day that I came in for the tour, was very warm, inviting, very friendly, and very helpful. I would highly recommend that to other families. It's just that for me, what I was looking for and what I needed from my mother, I just felt that it was not a good fit for her. The staff who toured me had a beautiful personality. They went above and beyond.

Lighthouse Pointe was a very friendly community. Everyone was extremely nice. The only reason I didn't go with that one was that the other place is closer to me for my dad. I saw a one-bedroom and a loft, and I wasn't impressed with the rooms. They were OK for what my dad needed; however, there was no stovetop. There was like a microwave and a fridge. It was a nice room, but the kitchen wasn't fully stocked with what I felt it should have. They had a man singing as I was there. It was their afternoon entertainment. He had a guitar and there was a whole bunch of people around. The amenities that they showed me were nice.

I went to Lighthouse Pointe. It was very nice, but that would be for somebody that was a little more independent than I felt like my mom was. We had a tour. We looked at an apartment or two. We looked at the dining facility and all the amenities that they had on site. It was very nice. I did not try the food, but Lighthouse had more of a restaurant feel; it was kind of neat. They had fitness equipment on site. They had apartments with patios, which is kind of nice and appealing. I had an overall favorable impression of it. I would recommend Lighthouse for independent living.

Lighthouse Pointe offers three meals a day, but the single room that we're interested in was small. The two-bedroom was very large though. The person who did the tour was very friendly. Their amenities include a courtyard, a patio, and a refrigerator in the room.

We are very happy with our apartments. The food and services have been quite good, we are not picky eaters. Laundry is handy, and cleaning service is good.

Lighthouse Pointe was a good facility. They offered a lot of things with the members, a lot of activities, and outings. The staff took us around and showed us multiple rooms for options, the activity rooms, and the schedule of events. Everything was really consolidated. You can get to everything with no issues. There is a lot of space. It's kind of spaced out, so there's a lot of moving room.

I visited Lighthouse Point. The staff was very friendly. The place was very well lit and had nice accommodations. Of all the three places I visited, this was the best one. I was satisfied. Every room had a very nice balcony.

Lighthouse was pretty good. The location and the staff were both very good. The residents were also nice to me, and when I left, everybody was saying: "I hope to see you back." I felt good about the way they treated me. The dining room was clean. They had activities.
