My mother has moved into The Heritage of Clear Lake. I like their care and I like that each nurse seems to be caring. They don't keep the residents in their rooms. Around 9:00, they start activities that go on until 5:00. After 5:00, they watch TV, and if they get sleepy after that, they go to their room, but most of the day they're outside. My mom seems to have an increased appetite, so I would imagine that the food is pretty good, too. They keep the rooms very clean. My mom's room is warm. She seems to like it a lot. They have a salon for their hair, and they have physical therapy that comes in. They have a private room, like if my mom has a birthday or someone in the family has a birthday, they're able to go just to that room. They have a craft room, a playroom, and an interior patio that is warm.

I toured The Heritage at Clear Lake while looking for a place for my loved one and was very disappointed. The building had a strong odor when I walked in and did not feel clean or inviting. What stood out even more was how little was happening for the residents. Most were sitting quietly with no interaction or engagement. This felt like an outdated model of memory care compared to other communities I have toured. Today’s memory care is supposed to focus on structured activities, stimulation, and dignity, but I didn’t see that here. Staff seemed rushed and not very attentive, and I left feeling uneasy about the level of care my loved one would receive. I would not feel comfortable choosing this community.

It is close to my house. It is a very nice facility, and I will recommend it. It is brand new, the staff is really nice and very caring, and the facility is secure. All the doors are locked so the residents cannot come and go. We chose it for my father. When you come in, you will think it is a small hotel. It doesn't have the look or feel of a facility. There is no hint of an odor or anything like that. The patients are all kept clean.
