Mom has been in River Oaks Skilled Nursing & Therapy now for about a month and a half. She went into skilled nursing, but she used up all of her days for the year on skilled nursing, so they moved her over to the long-term side. What I like best is that the other residents are very nice, warm, and welcoming, and the staff were nice when we toured. The rooms are a little small, but the upkeep and the decorations are very compatible with the age group of individuals they have there. To me, it reminds me of a Cracker Barrel. It fits my mom's style. I remember seeing a little side room when we were walking around that might have been considered a library. I did not try their food, but my dad did, and he continues to eat there when he goes to visit my mom. We like that it's restaurant-style and you can order different things off the menu, so there's a variety. It's not just that you get served whatever they have for the day. They had a church service the other day. They play different games in the one rec area. Right now, it's Medicare that's paying for it.
