My spouse is in the rehab unit. He has been asking for a shower for several days and still hasn't had one. The facility is nice. The food is good and most of the staff are nice but my husband had a full knee replacement and has a skin infection. I worked as a nurse aide and know that the first line of treatment for an infection is to keep an infection clean and to keep a wound clean and keep it dry.

I toured Country Club Rehabilitation Campus at Dover. It's dark and dingy and wasn't especially clean. They got nice, chirpy people, but it doesn't make up for it. It's not a clean, happy place. I was very disappointed in the kitchen area. It was like a dorm refrigerator, and no stove. Nothing was updated. The way it was set up, you had to eat there. I would like the option of cooking for myself. The lady who took me around, she's only been on the job three weeks, and she was not knowledgeable about the facilities and what's available. The eating area was not attractive. The hallways and doorways were narrow. Right now, I have to have a wheelchair because of an amputation. It seems to me that if you're disabled that's not going to be a good place to live. I believe it was built to be a nursing home. The staff that I dealt with for the tour didn't know diddly squat. They have a really chirpy, friendly receptionist that was positive about the place. I saw a lady who was probably housekeeping, and she was sitting on a chair in the hallway. When she saw us come in she jumped up and went to a door, knocked, and said, "I'm here to clean." That says a lot; if you are due for a break, you take a break in the break room. You don't give the place a negative visual by sitting in the hallway. The whole place was dark and dingy, and that can be changed with a coat of paint or change the lighting. The only place that had a lot of light was the one little nook where the koi pond was. That's because there were windows all around it, and that was the only place like that, but in the apartment that they showed me the windows were small. It was depressing. Their fees were twice as much as every place else I have called. You had to go to one specific area if you were wheelchair bound to be able to get to the parking lot. If you were parked a quarter of a mile down, that's unnecessary. It should have been handicap accessible.

They ignore the assisted living patients except to pass meds and meals. They tried to keep money belonging to my mother!

Our loved one was in the rehabilitation unit... This is a beautiful facility, and the direct care aides do a reasonably good job, considering that each aide has 16 individuals to care for on their shift. This means that for an entire 8 hour shift an aide has a total of 16 minutes per patient, after they take their scheduled breaks and lunch. ALERT: Please be aware that the nursing staff in this facility DOES NOT CARE about patients. I can't say they are incompetent, because they do so little I could not determine if it was incompetence, or a complete lack of administrative oversight. Perhaps the incompetence should be attributed to the facility administration. Without a doubt, this is the WORST run facility I have ever encountered, and I have worked in the human services field since 1980. PLEASE if you care even a little bit about your loved one, DO NOT CHOSE THIS FACILITY for services. If you do, I will guarantee that you will be coming back to this website to write your own review. Thankfully, we have moved our family member out of this facility...and it was not easy to gain the cooperation of the Country Club staff, to accomplish this move. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. NOTE: The only reason I am giving a 1-star rating, is because a rating is required to post a review.

I had an aunt who stayed in these apartments and they were lovely. The staff at the facility was very accomodating and the food was restaurant quality. If you are looking for a good quality apartment in which to place someone you love, Country Club Retirement Campus is absolutley the place to be!
