"My husband is receiving excellent care at Rennes Health & Rehab Center De Pere. They're friendly, efficient, and carry through when they say they're going to do something. He gets physical and occupational therapy (that includes building his upper back). He seems to enjoy the food, too. He is in a private room. It's very adequate for the needs of an individual and they have to slide him in and out of bed (which takes a couple of people). When they put him in a wheelchair, they got a whole bunch of people that they had to call in and put him in there. Then when he comes back, they have to lift him out, and put him back in bed."

"My mother is in Good Shepherd right now, and she has decided that she'll stay where she's at. It's attached to the nursing home that she was in. We chose it because she was there already and getting to know the people. She had collapsed and went into the nursing home that's there, and it was decided that she could not go home. So when her time at the nursing home was up, they had a room for her, and she just stayed there. The staff was wonderful. She thinks the food is a little carbohydrate-heavy, but besides that, she likes it. They have a lot of activities. They have a lot of entertainment. They have daily gatherings, either bingo or different crafts and stuff. Because it's a nursing home and assisted living, it's a big, sprawling place. She has a mile of hallways that she can walk every day. Her primary care physician is in the Prevea Clinic that is attached by a hallway, so she walks all over the place. If she ever needs to see the doctors, she just walks down the hallway. She doesn't have to go out because Wisconsin winters are pretty bad. "

"My uncle is at St. Paul Elder Services. For the most part, it's been very good. The only thing is that once we finally got him set up to go in there, it was a little difficult to get a hold of people, and to get phone calls back. Other than that, his care seems to be great; the staff seems great. He's very happy and satisfied there. Overall, it's been a pretty good experience. We haven't been inside because of Covid, but it's a pretty nice facility."

"My mom had to be in a nursing home for a few days after her hospitalization. She knew this name but didn't know anyone who stayed. Parkside had received a call from the hospital that she'd be coming but was not prepared. She needed to be quarantined for 2 days as she had had the flu. They assigned a single, dirty room that had been used as storage. We got it emptied and somewhat cleaned. I had to make up her bed. She told me that when she used the bathroom that night, there were silverfish, spiders, and other bugs in the bathroom and the shower was not cleaned. She insisted it be cleaned with bleach before she used it. I went shopping to find a mattress pad because she complained the bed was so uncomfortable. I found a 4" foam pad that made her much more comfortable. She ended up staying for about 8 days. She told me she never wanted to go there again. She said the food and therapists were very good but the other staff wasn't as attentive."

"Good therapists, some wonderful nursing staff. However, when I repeatedly encountered very serious problems with a few nurses/aides, management targeted me instead of the problematic staff. "

"The Bridges is really progressing in working with dementia. My mother has a severe form of dementia. They work with skilled staff to try to work with that group of people without confining them too much. It is in a nice area of town which is convenient for my dad. As far as the facility, you are allowed to put in any kind of furnishings for your parents. Otherwise, they can provide necessary things if you don't have anything or if you can't afford to put something else there. It is accommodating either way because you can go all out to put in anything you would like including pictures. The food is excellent. My mom used to have a lot of trouble with her stomach, but now she is really good with their three meals a day. They are always making snacks and baking. They have treat times and fruit times, and it is all different, so I never worry about the nutrition part. They are very open with suggestions to work with the people. They are trying to be very progressive and pro-advocates for people with dementia. As for the people I know personally in their caregiving, they really care, and they are very close to my mother. "

"My husband lived at Rennes Health Center Appleton. The place was nice. The dining area was very nice, but my husband doesn't like the food. They have bingo."

"I am a resident at the center. This is a wonderful place. I have been at other senior living complexes, Manor Care Appleton is by far the best. The staff take great care of me. Everyone is wonderful. "

"My husband's uncle was staying at this facility after he had his leg amputated and was having difficulty caring for himself. it was very difficult for the family to care for him as well. This facility was very warm and caring. everytime we visited there, they always seemed to take very good care of him. They where gentle with their care and friendly while working with him. Not only did they make him feel comfortable but they also made the family feel good about him being there. It was very important for the family to feel comfrotable with him there, and the staff was very good about helping them feel that comfort. "

"Overall, I thought that this nursing home was a nice facility. The building itself seems new and well kept. The rooms, kitchens, and common area, are all up-to-date and comfortable for residents, visitors, and staff. One of my favorite things about the place, was a gas fireplace in the common area. Residents often sat here to watch television, eat, and enjoy the warm fire. The facilities are located just outside of downtown Appleton, making them accessible but also outside of the busier downtown area. Around the facility, is a quiet residential neighborhood. It seems like a safe part of town. My only criticism of Heritage is because of staff. A couple of the CNAs at the facility treated residents unprofessionally. While doing cares, they joked and seemed to pay little attention to the needs of the client. It also must be stated that this, in no way, is representative of the staff there as a whole. Overall, staff are professional and courteous. "

"My grandma recently passed away while being a resident of Oakridge Gardens Nursing Facility. She was only there for a short amount of time. In that time she was very weak and declining in health rapidly. The staff there was top notch. They were very helpful, and would take time out to answer any questions you had. They communicated very well her status and daily activities when no one (family) was there. They were very helpful with her and anything she needed. Being given meds, helping her eat, or just helping her get around or reposition her self in bed. The building was very clean, warm and welcoming with a nice lounge area. I also thought it was nice that the staff would offer visitors food items that were left over from time to time. Which was very good. All in all the few short months my grandmother was a resident at Oakridge Gardens was a very pleasant few months. I am sure my grandmother passed away happy and comfy. Never once did she complain about any of the staff, and let me tell you this, if she had any negative thoughts about them she would have voiced it! "
