Nursing Home Communities in Du Bois, PA

"A friend that I knew was in this nursing home. It was very clean, and it offered alot for the residents to do. There was crafts, tv, bingo, etc. Most of the staff here was very polite and nice. I know there is alot of opinion of places like these and the people not being taken care of the way that they should. However, in this location I thought it was EXCELLENT service. The lady I had known that was a resident there said she really enjoyed it there and there wasn't any place like it, and she said she didn't WANT to go home. I had asked her why and she said the staff was so friendly, and she felt like she belonged there because she had friends, things to do, and she said it let her feel like she could live again. It made me happy to know that she enjoyed living there and that she was treated well. "

"Highland View is now part of the Guardian Healthcare system. First thing I noticed is that the place is immaculately clean. Mom has been there 3 months and staff is attentive and caring. There have been a number of times they have gone out of their way to make sure she is happy. She enjoys the wide variety and excellent preparation of the food! Lots of planned activities and church services. I am there often and have not seen 1 single instance of impatience, rudeness, roughness or any inappropriate behavior by a staff member towards a resident. We are counting blessings that we found this place. "

"The thing that is most striking to me about this facility is the animals. There are several types of animals that live among and are partially cared for by the residents. There are dogs and cats that roam the hallways and spend time with the residents as they wish. There are also several aviaries where residents may sit and watch birds in a close setting.There were also many areas where visitors could spend time with their friends or family members. In these areas, meals could be taken (visitors were allowed to bring food for themselves and those they were visiting, or they could order a meal from the cafeteria). These were also spaces where residents and visitors could have a quieter space for conversations or putting together a puzzle.The staff was quite nice and always welcomed us to the home with a smile. They even answered questions we had about the animals who shared the facility. "

"It was a really nice place! My grandpa loved being there and loved the people, they where all so nice and understanding there are so many things for them to do there every evening and very good means witch is very important when your trying to make a family member comfortable somewhere that isnt home. It was very clean and organized, everyone was very respectful and the people there where so nice! "

"I was at Dr. Arthur Clifton's when I broke my hip. It was a very nice and clean facility. I can say nothing wrong about it. The staff was wonderful. They paid a lot of attention to their patients. The food was also very good. The only thing I didn't like about the place was that my family had to drive too far to get to see me. "

"Everyone was very welcoming. While my grandmothers were admitted, they received very good care. My maternal grandmother's only complaint was that her roommate always listened to the TV too loudly. Overall, the place was very clean and my relatives were well taken care of. "
