"I had to drag my husband to the Villages, then I had to drag him away. That really says it all. I love the area and the energy of the State College town filled with young people is appealing to us. Everything and everyone at the Village made us feel welcome and content. The facilities are terrific and the food and service were tops.We were very happy to share several meals with highly intelligent and accomplished residents We hope to become residents once our current real estate is settled. "I did not have very many interactions with the staff except for a few nurses that helped my grandmother. Overall the interactions was friendly and the staff seemed like they enjoyed their jobs and generally cared for the patients. I wasn't able to explore much of the facility, as I spent most of the time in my grandmother's room. The room was a little hospital like but it was comfortable enough and my grandmother did not seem to mind it. We were able to have a nice time in a large seating area and enjoyed our time with the other patients and staff. Overall I would recommend this facility to others. My dad, who was there every day checking on her only had positive comments every night when he came home. "

"We lived at Foxdale Village for 10 years. We had our own doctor, our own total care, assisted living, and independent living. It met all our needs. It was sparkling clean, and the public bathrooms were unbelievably clean. The food was excellent. None of the activities were run by the Foxdale people. We have 19 committees, and we all did that ourselves. If you have an interest, you can start a group. The staff was excellent. They had quite an extensive library, activity rooms, meeting rooms, auditorium, and swimming pool, and they're going to build a bocce place because some residents want it. It's well run. The independent living had homes joining each other and divided into neighborhood and ours was particularly close. We had 12 homes in that neighborhood. The assisted living was down in the main building and ate with us in the same restaurant. We can call in or the health office for medicine, and it's delivered to our home. If you need a refill, you just call up the pharmacy, and they bring it out to you. They also had medical service where people come to the apartment in the morning between 6:00 and 8:00 in the morning, and they knock on your door and take a sample of whatever is required. If you don't feel like getting up, they'll come take it in your bed, so you don't even have to get up, you just roll over and go back to sleep. I've never heard of any place doing that, but it's really nice to have that there."

"My husband was in HealthSouth four different times. The cleanliness was great. They didn’t respond very quickly to my husband a lot of times -- fortunately, he didn’t fall. He was in a private room and in a shared room at one point as well. There was plenty of room for him. They need more staff to keep up with residents instead of having one therapist for nine different people. I caught several residents sleeping during one of the therapy sessions. "

"We chose Centre Crest for Mom. When mom's money runs out, it will take Medicaid. It is a larger, well-maintained facility that seems to have lots of programs. The memory care unit seems adequate, and the staff seems friendly. It is near to my hometown. They have a movie day, arts & crafts, and outside activities in spring and summer with flowers and things like that. The cost is within our price range. "
