"My father is now in his late 80s and has been at this facility for for nearly 3 years (skilled care). We've had a few minor complaints, which were quickly addressed, but overall the care has been excellent. Nursing staff seems particularly well qualified and dedicated, and we are always notified quickly of any medical changes or events. Social workers/activities people are friendly and schedule a lot of activities for residents. Dad is a veteran and they go out of their way to recognize vets on veteran-related holidays. They also put on great activities around normal holidays, for both residents and family. Food is above average, but for special events it is actually good. The facility is clean and looks recently updated. There is a large central courtyard that is nicely landscaped and is a good place to spend time with family. All of the resident rooms appear to get plenty of sun. The location couldn't be better - quiet and away from traffic and the area gets cool breezes from Cape Cod Bay. It is situated on a small hill overlooking the Cape Cod Canal (about a football field away). But it's not isolated - there is small Shopping Center with a Stop & Shop and a few decent restaurants minutes away. Also a few motels within minutes. Recommend. "

"My mom stayed in Bourne Manor Extended Care Facility for rehab. They did occupational and physical therapy, fed her, took care of her, and exercised her. They painted her nails. They had animals come in, had music, people played the piano, and they had games. So, there was a lot of stuff going on for her. They were caring, attentive, and punctual with her meals and pills. It was a clean environment. They did keep it sanitary. The rooms were very comfortable, but there were no air conditioners in the summer. Sometimes she had roommates. Sometimes she didn't, but it was nice. They had curtains separating them, and they each had their own TV. They could pick what they wanted to eat off a menu. So, they had their choice of food, which was very nice. The menu had a wide variety. My mother loved desserts. So, she loved her ice cream, cookies, cakes, and puddings. She loved all the sweet stuff. She did enjoy that. Whenever she needed water, they came right away. So, I was very comfortable with her there. They also had a very nice dining room with chandeliers. It was a very nice seating area."

"What I like about Royal is that it's close to my house and I can just visit my Aunt anytime. The nurses and staff working there were very good and I have no complaints about them. She is in a 3 bedroom but she has dementia so she is not in her room too often. I haven't heard her complaining about the food. Other people have but she is not complaining so that's fine. "

"My mother liked it Falmouth Care. They are very good, but they are a bit short on help that's why we help a little bit. People are friendly, it's clean, and food is good. It was very hard for mom because of the language, but they do have workers who speaks Brazilian and one nurse who speaks Portuguese. So she got used to the people and she want to be there. The only thing I have complained about was I think it should be a smoke-free place. And they say they're going to do that. For people who have oxygen makes no sense, especially the nurses smoke right next to them. To me, it's not right. I feel bad for the residents because they can't go out by themselves, without their family. I believe all nursing homes should have an area where the people could go out and walk or go out on wheelchairs or give them outside activities. "

"I moved to Pleasant Bay Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. It was disappointing to find out that the back-up generator doesn't cover all the areas. So far it's pretty good, and I've been here for a couple of years. The workforce is very good. They're better than any other place I've heard of. They do a lot of activities than what I care about. I've done a comparison on the prices, and I'm kind of satisfied with it."

"JML Care Center Inc was the facility I chose for my mother. The staff treated my mom like family. All her medical needs were met. They also gave good emotional support to the family. The place was just exceptional. "

"My grandmother, who died there recently, was admitted to this home back in 2007 after it became clear that she would be unable to care for herself anymore. The staff there were wonderful. We could not have asked for better care for her from the staff. The made extra visits to her all the time and treated her like she was a member of their own family. Most of the time she could not fill out the menu for her daily meals but the staff rathering then letting the default meal be given to her filled out the menu according to her likes and dislikes and made sure that she got ice cream with her meals every so often even through she wasn't supposed to have it. When she finally died there a large amount of the staff came by with tears in their eyes to give their condolences and share their stories of her with us, and even through we were supposed to be responsible for packing up here stuff and removing it by the time we got there the next day most of her stuff had been neatly packed into boxes and some helped pack the remaining stuff with us. Several of them tried to make it to the funeral which was several hours away from the home. "

"I liked the location of Kindred Transitional Care and the caring, friendly staff. The patients and the staff seemed to engage with one another, but they don’t have enough staff members. They keep the family informed. My stepfather is comfortable. "

"Windemere had assisted care and full care. It seemed to be a wonderful facility. Anyone I had known whose parents or relatives had been there had been very happy with it. However, it was understaffed from what I understood. They had more needs than they had people working. I had eaten the food that was prepared by the hospital's kitchen, and it was delicious and very good. I could only tell you how things were when my father was there, but I thought you had to be an advocate for your family member. If you showed them that you were interested, they were very good in making sure that your family member was cared for. My father was in a very large two-bedroom -- which was not crowded at all -- but he was sharing it with another man. They had all kinds of activities. They had music, religious services, and musical entertainments. They brought animals in like dogs and cats for the people to interact with. They had arts and crafts. They had tons of things going on. I thought they need to improve on having more staff like CNAs, nurse's aides -- anybody that would be taking care of the things that were so important to be done. My dad was there for a month, and he actually died there. They were so sensitive and caring for him at the end of his life. It was quite wonderful. Living there was like living in a giant family, and everybody took care of everybody else. We were very fortunate. "

"My grandmother has been at Sippican for a few months. She used to have visiting nurses come to her home, but as of late her health has been failing and she's been slipping/falling more often now. She's at Sippican mainly because she has trouble walking and her legs swell up. I've found the staff very warm and welcoming whenever I call and visit. Even though I always forget the name of the ward my grandmother's in, they're happy to look it up and direct my call. My grandmother's also hard of hearing, so often times when she can't hear the phone ring, they'll be sure to pick it up for her and let her know that her granddaughter's calling. Another thing I've found very helpful is that they're understanding that she's familiar with certain nurses and would prefer to have her care given to her by them, and them only. She gets uneasy with newer nurses around. Sippican is happy to accomodate for her, and that makes me feel better about what goes on at the facility when I'm not around to actually witness it. "

"We're very impressed with Life Care Center of Plymouth. The person who assisted me was very, very nice and very accommodating and showed us whatever we wanted to see. She just gave us a total overview and she was very helpful. The facility was very clean. The dining area was very accommodating for the people, whether they had wheelchairs or walkers. I didn't see any apartments. It was just a floor plan that we observed. It was straight and everything. People could be able to go here and go there. There were no obstructions at all."

"My mom is in this facility for over a year now and when I call or face-time with my sister. I can see how happy and healthy she is! My sister tells me that the staff is unbelievably awesome. I live in the south so I can only depend on my sister. My sister has very high standards so I know my mom is home:)"

"This facility is very clean and cares for their patients. You get a family vibe when in it. The employees are helpful to visitors and patients. The view to the ocean is beautiful. They have many wonderful activities for their patients as well as a beautiful garden. "
