Windemere had assisted care and full care. It seemed to be a wonderful facility. Anyone I had known whose parents or relatives had been there had been very happy with it. However, it was understaffed from what I understood. They had more needs than they had people working. I had eaten the food that was prepared by the hospital's kitchen, and it was delicious and very good. I could only tell you how things were when my father was there, but I thought you had to be an advocate for your family member. If you showed them that you were interested, they were very good in making sure that your family member was cared for. My father was in a very large two-bedroom -- which was not crowded at all -- but he was sharing it with another man. They had all kinds of activities. They had music, religious services, and musical entertainments. They brought animals in like dogs and cats for the people to interact with. They had arts and crafts. They had tons of things going on. I thought they need to improve on having more staff like CNAs, nurse's aides -- anybody that would be taking care of the things that were so important to be done. My dad was there for a month, and he actually died there. They were so sensitive and caring for him at the end of his life. It was quite wonderful. Living there was like living in a giant family, and everybody took care of everybody else. We were very fortunate.
