"Nature Trail Nursing Home was first opened in 1970. It is a single story nursing home and has experienced and caring staff. Since the facility is older, it does not have some of the perks that newer properties in the area have. The common area just inside the front entrance provides for both meal service and activities. Private and semi-private rooms are available to residents. The nursing home has shared bathroom facilities. This facility employs a full-time activities director that keeps a daily schedule of entertainment and games for the residents. The activities director also schedules visits from local churches and civic groups to visit on a regular basis for the benefit of the residents. There is a beauty parlor room available which is manned by an outside independent hairdresser. The nursing home also has a small meeting sunroom located on the east end of the building which can be used by the residents for family gatherings or parties. "

"They don't send me information on upcoming events. They ask me to schedule my mother for appointments and ask me to take her. I work 40 hours a week. It is very difficult for me to get off work. The change over is very high. The facility is an hour away. I go at least once a month to visit my mother, and always on the weekends. The staff makes comments such as, well hasn't it been a long time since you've been here. "

"My grandfather was a resident at Mt Vernon Countryside Manor. He was very afraid to go into the nursing home but after about a week of being there, he was praising the staff.The nursing home did not have that urine smell that is usually present as soon as you walk in the door. Instead it smelled like cleaning supplies. That was my first pleasant surprise. Another surprise when I turned from the lobby down a hallway. There were no laundry carts, trash cans, nothing in the hallway except an occasional chair. That was very nice. I have been places where there were so many things in the hallway, you couldn't walk a straight line. The room was extremely clean. There were two people in the room and everything was put away and there was even a shelf attached to the wall that flowers and photos could be without taking up lower space. The nursing staff were all very friendly and came right away when the button was pressed. Accompanying my grandfather to the cafeteria was nice and many of the staff spoke to us as we passed. They were not too busy to stop briefly. The food smelled very good and must have been since my grandfather ate everything he was offered and was able to have a second helping of vegetables and desert.All-in-all, I believe my grandfather's stay was as pleasant as one could be. "

"I have 17 years' experience with relatives who were residents at Breese Nursing Home. While the appearance is not the best, the care is amazing. The staff truly cares about the residents and makes sure to take care of their needs. There are many long-term employees who are obviously not there because of the pay or the benefits but because they truly love their job and in turn the residents. I have experience with other facilities that have all the bells and whistles and up-to-date decorations, etc. but I found the care to be lacking. I would recommend Breese Nursing Home to anyone who is more concerned about the care their loved one receives rather than the décor. "

"My mom moved into Aviston Countryside Manor. The facility is very clean. They have very friendly staff and very good food. I go into the dining room with my mom frequently, and she compliments the food. The dining room is very nice. There are tables where probably about eight people can sit together. The aides serve them their food. They have regular cloth napkins and plates. It's a very nice facility. Their staff had been very helpful to my mother. They are good about coming in, checking on her, and helping her whenever she rings for them. They are nurses and CNAs. They have a very nice activity director. She sometimes helps out in the dining room if they're really busy, and she's very friendly."
