Do not recommend. My sister was transferred there from the hospital for rehab and we do not have evidence of competent care, since family members were not allowed, due to Covid. She needed help from caregivers to get out of bed, into a wheelchair, to go to bathroom. She was at high risk of falling, so confined to bed with railings. There was no explanation how she could have fallen on the floor by herself early one morning. Staff has been non-responsive to family member questions. That morning she was taken back to hospital with some injuries from the fall. It was discovered she developed 2 infections, one from the surgical area, while in Desert Willow 1, not treated by the staff, and had to be given doses of antibiotics and other treatments in hospital. She came out of Desert Willow 1 WORSE than when she went in.

My friend is in The Village. She was first in assisted living but was diagnosed with dementia. The dementia section is very nice with very caring people, and she liked the food. The rooms were kind of small with two people in one room and was more like a bedroom with a big closet.

The advantage at Northrise is that if my mom got worse, we don't have to move her around so much because they have everything, i.e., independent living, assisted living and memory care. She can stay right there. It's a topnotch place. The facility itself looks good. It's quite expensive though and we haven't decided yet if we are going to choose this for her.

The facility was moderately nice and fairly spacious. The living areas seemed to have all the necessary room and amenities a resident would need. There was a nice living/socializing area in the middle of each floor where residents could talk and play games, which I think was a great idea. The facility could use a bit of a facelift though; some things seemed outdated and should be replaced. Staff offered any help that could be utilized but didn't take away the residents' sense of independence. The facility was easy to access as a visitor, but might be a little too easy. All I had to do was walk in and find the room I was looking for, but there wasn't anyone at the entrances/exits monitoring who comes and goes. This could become a problem if anyone unwelcome tried to enter the building. I did, however, like that each room has a doorbell and an viewer so the resident can check who is at the door. The facility lets every resident decorate their units however they please, even their doors, which gives the hallways a very warm feeling. The main thing I would change is increase staff, particularly in the hallways and entrances because there does not seem to be anyone ensuring that the residents are safe and everything is running smoothly.
