I liked the BeeHive Homes of Maple Grove. We toured that one lovely assisted care place. It was just a little bit outside our price range. The rooms were smaller than the other facility. They didn't have refrigerators and microwaves in the room, which the other facility does, which is kind of important because my mother-in-law likes to heat up her coffee and get something in the middle of the night if she's thirsty, and she doesn't have to wake the staff. She can get it herself. The staff was excellent. I've been very impressed with the staff and all of them. Their units were mixed, so their memory care was with their assisted living. I wasn't fond of that. I wanted the memory unit separate because when we were there, one of the ladies came out and was just walking around and she didn't know where she was going and stuff and she was picking up people's items. She's going, and now the people saw this and then they followed her and they put it back, so that's not a big deal, but I just really wish it was like the other facility where the memory care was on one end as a locked unit, and the assisted living on the other. You don't have to move out of your room at all at BeeHive if you move from assisted to memory care. You stay in the same room, they just up your level of care.
