I was a resident of The Village at LaFranier Woods. It's excellent and outstanding. These are one- and two-bedroom apartments. The apartment I had was a one-bedroom, and it was 670 square feet. The staff is very good. They have a full-time activities director. The administrative staff is very good. They pretty much answer any questions or problems you have and address them. There's a full-time maintenance man there. So, your maintenance issues are addressed. They served the dinner meal, and you were provided with a five-day menu. You can pick what meals you want to eat off that menu, and it has to be turned in by a Saturday prior to the next week, but those meals are $15 each. The food is excellent. They have a regularly scheduled fitness program, and they do that once a week. They're very well connected to the Grand Traverse Commission on Aging. It's an excellent program, and they have full access to all those programs. If you need transportation, you coordinate that through the Commission on Aging, and someone will come and pick you up and get you to that activity.

I chose The Village At Lafranier Woods because of the availability and because it's brand new. The staff who toured me was great. She was very friendly and was willing to show us whatever we wanted. She was very nice. They have a library, garages or carports, and laundry on each floor.
