"We found here for my mom. It’s a very nice community, and it's clean. They serve three meals a day. My mom has a one-bedroom apartment with a little kitchenette. They do have trip services on Sunday, and they also have some sing-alongs."

"My parents are at Samaritas Senior Living Traverse City. The location is near me. The staff is very helpful. They seem to be attentive and attend to whatever is needed quickly. They have the library, sewing club, movies, church services, cards, and crossword puzzle group. They have a gym, they have physical therapists that come in, and they have a podiatrist that comes every once in a while. They got the bus driving, and they'll take you anywhere you want to go if you don't have a car. It is expensive, but for all the things that are around like that, it's the best bang for your buck."

"I have grown to know the Northport Highlands through my husband's year-long stay there. While I rarely provide reviews anywhere, it's important to share my input, as what I have experienced, what my husband continues to experience, and what I see almost daily, is worthy of sharing to those who may be seeking a caring living environment for a loved one. The Highlands is clean, friendly, diverse in population and staff, attentive to individual needs of residents, and offers a wide variety of activities to keep residents involved. As a facility, it has the ONLY indoor swim pool in Leelanau county, which is open to residents and resident families. Two exercise areas have just about any machines/equipment one needs. Ice cream socials, coffee and donuts, happy hour . . . and music happens with weekly singalongs, piano concerts, and outside musicians visiting. The staff is local - key to consistency and presence. Pets are welcome. Apartments are large with plenty of storage space in them as well as a separate large closet just outside of each one. The location is on one of the most coveted areas in the country -- Leelanau County. Just off M22, the building is perched on a hill with some great views of the bay. It's a peaceful environment in a small, iconic town. Come visit and see for yourself!"

"My mother is on a waiting list at Boardman Lake Glens. It's an age in place. It's independent care unless you need help, and then it becomes assisted care, but you stay in the same room. There are three different buildings, and they're owned by the same people. It's very clean and it smelled good. The staff was very friendly and they were interested in what you were asking. The place itself was set up very friendly. All the rooms are at least one-bedroom. You have weekly cleaning. There's access to laundry if you want to do it or if you want somebody else to do it. There's a salon, and there's a beautiful view. Everybody seems to be very comfortable in their areas. There's a kitchenette in each room. They don't turn on the stove unless it's needed. There's a full-size fridge. It seems like a regular apartment. The facility was very nice and clean."

"I am a resident of LaFranier Woods. I have been here since it opened up and I’m very pleased and happy living here. There are so many things to do. There is a workout room, a library, a game room with a pool table, we have a craft room, a salon, and a wonderful dining room with a terrific chef. The food is wonderful and is very healthy. The office personnel are very caring and helpful with anything you need. We have a maintenance man also. I have a two bedroom one and a half bath. I believe it’s about 960 ft.² plenty of room for one to two people. I enjoy playing games here at the apartment complex. Our Activity Director is very vivacious and has a wide variety of activities. There is a bus that takes you to the groceries store once a week for those that prefer to grocery shop that way. All in all I’m very happy here. It is my home now."

"I toured Village at Bay Ridge Senior Community. It's a much older place. It's on the west side of town where I like to be, but they didn't have anything available. It's a very nice place. The people were great. They were awesome. The one I spoke with was very, very nice. They have all this stuff for people to do. They have buses that they take people to the grocery store or whatever if they don't drive. There's a gym, a library, and rooms to use if your family comes in for something."
