I think Boardman Lake Glens assisted living is wonderful and the care is wonderful. The only problem we had is that my mom needed a step up in the care and there was a drastic miscommunication between the nurse that was on the floor and the manager of the whole unit. That was all resolved and it's going just beautifully right now again. Their rooms are gorgeous. Her room overlooks a lake. She has her bedroom, own bathroom, living room, and a little kitchenette. It couldn't be nicer for her. We're so pleased that we were able to find that place so we were upset at the thought of having her leave. The food is delicious. She loves it. They have bingo and exercise. They had a person there when we were visiting her this summer and she brought in cups of ice cream for everyone. Another time she had little things, like little treats for them because it was a holiday. Mother had some art projects that she's worked on in her room too. The staff is very caring and they meet all of her needs.

My mother is on a waiting list at Boardman Lake Glens. It's an age in place. It's independent care unless you need help, and then it becomes assisted care, but you stay in the same room. There are three different buildings, and they're owned by the same people. It's very clean and it smelled good. The staff was very friendly and they were interested in what you were asking. The place itself was set up very friendly. All the rooms are at least one-bedroom. You have weekly cleaning. There's access to laundry if you want to do it or if you want somebody else to do it. There's a salon, and there's a beautiful view. Everybody seems to be very comfortable in their areas. There's a kitchenette in each room. They don't turn on the stove unless it's needed. There's a full-size fridge. It seems like a regular apartment. The facility was very nice and clean.

My mother is moving into Boardman Lake Glens the last week of July. It was a really good tour, it was very informative, and they showed me everything -- all the different options that they had. We went over everything and I was very comfortable with it. The staff was very warm and friendly, and they also seemed to be very caring. If I had a question they answered it right away. I like the view and the size of the rooms. It's very clean, the place smelled good, everything was very well marked, and they had nice, light hallways for those who needed assistance. The cleanliness is what really got me; that, and the smell: it wasn't antiseptic or anything like that. It was very nice and clean. They have cards, puzzles, exercise classes, bingo, charades for those who can participate, and outings.

My mother-in-law is currently at Boardman Lake Glens. They've been very good and very caring. They keep in contact with us if she's having some issues. We liked the place because it was smaller and it had two wings, and they didn't house more than 20 people in the whole situation. We were able to visit before COVID when she first went in. We were impressed with the size of the rooms. She has a living area and a separate bedroom. Because it's smaller, we felt it would be a better fit for her. It's very homey. The staff has been very helpful and very pleasant. She feels very well cared for. She mentions all the time how nice they are to her. She loves the food, but there haven't been many activities because of COVID.

Boardman Lake Glens is a well-established community. It's not what I was looking for for my brother now but maybe for when he's further along in his dementia. Based on most of the residents there, I didn't think it would be a good fit. The place was very nice with individualized apartments. Not like many assisted living places where you just have one room, this one has apartments and some even had a kitchen. I was impressed that each resident had their own room of fairly substantial size.

Boardman Lake Glens is a very nice place. They are very accommodating. The ladies that live there are very friendly. One resident was willing to show me her apartment because they didn't have an open one when I visited. The apartments are very nice, very open, and clean. They have lots of storage space. They don't have a swimming pool or a movie theater, but they have a number of classes and a nice library. They also serve three meals a day. Overall, Boardman Lake Glens is friendly and homey. The only thing about that is that, it is on Boardman Lake, and four years ago, my brother drowned there, so I don't know how I would handle living right on the lake.

Boardman Lake Glens had cottages available, which met my needs because you can get out, plant flowers, and watch the birds. Meals were not available, which was the only thing I disliked. The facility itself was nice and clean and looked like it was well taken care of. The staff looked as though they were caring people.

I didn’t like Boardman Lake Glens; it’s clean, but it’s just old. You can look in everybody’s door, and they’re just sitting there watching TV.

I was at Boardman Lake Glens for about a year, and that was really ace. I’d like to go back there. It’s very small with only 21 rooms, and the food was good. They had a lovely spot right on a little lake, and were just a few buildings away from the city library; plus, there was a close shopping area you could walk to, and traffic was fairly quiet. It was a really nice place, and the people there were very accommodating.

Boardman Lake Glens was nice. I actually went there twice, and it looked like a nice facility. There wasn't anything going on while I was there, so I couldn't really see how the dining situation would exist, but I did see the room, and it looked like a pleasant room; it was certainly adequate.

Boardman Lake was also a very nice place, but it was much more expensive. It just was not within my mother-in-law's price range. It was one that I would probably rate a 5. They have very nice areas for the residents to sit overlooking the water. I wasn't sure about the safety of it for someone with dementia because they had patios that open right out onto the water, and I could see someone kind of wandering into the river. The staff and the rooms were nice. They had a good array of activities. It seems like a very good facility. It was very clean and well kept.

Both of my grandparents lived at Inverness for several years, until they both passed away. I was amazed at the level of care they received: in one word, EXCELLENT. All of the staff, including kitchen help, knew their names. Their apartment was always clean, as were their clothes. When my grandparents were aware of their surroundings, they said they were very happy with the staff, although my Grandfather often complained about the food. As he was almost a gourmet chef himself, meeting his standards of cooking in an institutional setting, would be nearly impossible. He took it in good stride. When each of them passed, the staff was there with us, personally involved. They did not, however, overstep their bounds. It was obvious that they cared for my grandparents, and did not wish to see them suffer. We could not have asked for better care.
