"Sparce rooms -during a tour the male owner , he kept saying he was the owner , like maybe we would forget. He tried to sell us the recliner, dresser and some end tables that were left in the room he showed us and said he could add it to the bill with we chose to take the room for my mother. He was creepy and pushy. We chose another facility with licensed nursing staff . This place is just a foster care home. They do not have licensed staff to care for your loved one. That is not a plus and the creepy owner also not a plus."

"I have had just the opposite experience then what has been described in other reviews. The staff is very attentive, connecting, and caring with my mother at all times. My mother raves about her experiences. The food is excellent, there are many things for residents to do, and the staff truly care about them. I would be glad to share my thoughts with anyone considering Cherry Blossom for placement for their loved one. Just google my name for contact information. "

"We chose Maple Ridge Manor for my mother because it had the availability, it was within her means, and its proximity (it was close by for me). The facility is about two or three years old. So, it's fairly new. I think it has a small capacity, like 35 for assisted living, and maybe 15 for memory care in another wing (she is in the assisted living). She has a daily calendar of activities, which includes 45 minutes of some type of exercise activity. They transport their people out usually at least once a week, sometimes to more various activities or shopping. They have a group where a geriatric doctor comes in and visits them. She felt comfortable there and it's clean. It just fits into her lifestyle. My mother enjoyed the meals. She avoids dairy products, and they have gone out of their way to make sure that when there's an excessive amount of cheese or dairy, they change what she eats for her. They cater to her needs. While the others are having ice cream, she's having that lactose-free ice cream. They're giving her almond milk rather than the regular dairy milk. So,that's been very helpful."

"Green Acres of Manistee was really nice. However, my mom couldn't handle that one. She couldn't live by herself, and she had to had somebody in there. If my mom could handle it, it would be a great place. The rooms were so clean. The building was nice. I would give them an excellent rating. I was very impressed with it. It had a very homey feeling. They had two or three major things that they do a year. They would ride on a bus and they would go several times. "

"We saw Sweetwater Creek Adult Foster Care when we went by and there was something about it that my husband said, 'Let's investigate.' We talked to the woman. We liked what she had to say. She said that we were welcome to come in and tour, which several of us did, and we'd love the feel of it. It is a very nice and small home. There are only four other women there. It is a very homey feeling. My mother-in-law has been there now for two to three weeks and she's very happy there. When my mother-in-law was brought in that day, residents came, met her at the door, and took her hands, and they're just sweet. Everyone there is sweet and wonderful, and it's completely set up for their comfort and living. She's just in the best hands. The staff members are very sweet and very caring. We were there while they were fixing lunch the day my mother-in-law got there, and the food looked like a well-balanced lunch. Activities were one of the things that drew us to them. When we came in for a visit at two different times, the ladies were sitting at the table playing a card game and playing a board game, and they had puzzles and they tried to keep the residents very active. The facility is set up for my mother-in-law to get around in her walker or wheelchair and to get in and out of the house. They take her to her doctor's appointments and their vehicle is set up for these ladies to be able to get in and out easily. The house is all one level, there are no steps. There's a deck out from the kitchen with bird feeders where birds are flocking there. It's just perfect. It's amazing. We keep thinking this can't be right, it's so much cheaper than other places we looked at."
