We liked the staff at Green Acres of Mason the best. They put two rooms together for us and that worked fine. They had a sitting room and a room big enough to put in a table and chairs and a separate bedroom, but it was too small for our queen-sized bed. They had the two small bedrooms join and added a door, so we put our bed in one of the big rooms and made one of the smaller room for exercise and the other one an office. It was very good, and we liked it best, but all of a sudden they wanted another grand amount from me. The food was not quite as good as the other place we lived in. They had a "sit and be fit" class that my wife enjoyed. The experience was good except for the management change. We were there about a year and a half. It was very good, except they had some wanderers, and they were talking about building a locked down unit/memory unit. It wasn't set up for people who had Alzheimer's or some other kind of dementia. They did what they could for my wife.

Green Acres of Manistee was really nice. However, my mom couldn't handle that one. She couldn't live by herself, and she had to had somebody in there. If my mom could handle it, it would be a great place. The rooms were so clean. The building was nice. I would give them an excellent rating. I was very impressed with it. It had a very homey feeling. They had two or three major things that they do a year. They would ride on a bus and they would go several times.

Green Acres of Manistee was close to where we wanted to be and that was one pleasant about it. It was a Taj Mahal. It was beautiful. There was no smell and everything was well maintained. However, there was a waiting list. If you had a driving permit, you could have your own automobile there. You also furnish your own furniture in the room. It was wonderful.
