We have our father right now at The Colonial House. Amy, the owner, is wonderful. She cares about the residents. She is very understanding and caring with the family members themselves and the residents' friends. The house is open. It's pretty much their home. She makes it the residents' home. They can have visitors whenever. They can come and go whenever. She keeps them involved in things like, right now, we're doing a Christmas party. We did a birthday party for some of the guys. She invited families for Thanksgiving. She welcomes the family as much as she welcomes the resident. The staff is really good, very attentive and compassionate. The facility is clean and safety is their priority. The staff is just as wonderful. I have not had any problems with the staff. My dad loves the staff. They're there for their needs. They have call buttons in their rooms and if the staff is not right there, the residents will have call buttons that they can use and someone will come. I've been there when they ate like for their birthdays and stuff. They got to choose their own dinner. It was my dad's birthday, and they asked for steak and they all got steak. They cooked out on the grill. They have fresh, homemade food. They get a full meal and they get desserts. They have snack time if they want snacks. Many of them have refrigerators in their room. They have a nice dining area that all of the residents can sit together at once and have dinner as a family. It's more family-oriented. They have two living room areas. Every room has its own TV. They have TVs in the living room. They can go sit in the living room. They have enough bathroom facilities. Their laundry gets done every single day. I have no complaints. I haven't partaken in a lot of the activities. I know they have bingo and stuff like that. They would paint their nails. I go and play cards with my dad, and they have birthday parties together. We're getting ready to have a Christmas party together. They just play silliness and fun sometimes. The owner takes pictures and sends them to the family of fun silly things they do. I have nothing bad to say about them. The care and the treatment that my dad is getting are above and beyond what they're being paid. I recommended it to my best friend for her sister, and my sister was there as well.
