"My mom has been here since March. It is a very clean place. The staff is very caring, and the patients are well taken care of. They have plenty of caregivers that help with the bathroom, the showers, and everyday needs. My mom can feed herself but she can't shower or dress, so they do all of that for her. I would put her there again if I have to choose again. They have activities every day and everything to keep the residents entertained and busy. The food looks very good. There are two main entrees, three meals a day plus snack. The apartment is a large room my mom shares with another lady. They share a bathroom, but they have their own space for their own belongings and their own closets. They had an activity yesterday for Mother's Day. A lady played a lot of old songs and tried to get the people involved."

"I liked Oakmont of Whittier a lot. It was just totally out of my price range. The rooms were very spacious with minimal furniture, but it could be made into a comfortable space and dressed up into whatever you wanted it to be. It was good. Their theater room was like a mini theater, and it was beautiful. Nice, spacious, walkways, staircases, and chandeliers; it was extremely nice. It would have cost much more than what’s within my budget. But the personnel were very helpful. They had beautiful dining areas with tablecloths and napkins; it looked more like a restaurant. They had serving areas that the people could kind of see the food being prepared and then served to them. The Alzheimer’s unit was one of the locations that they were going to put my brother in because they had more caregivers there, and I didn’t think that was the best fit for him, but he did need more care. If they have had space for him and the money was right, this is where he would have been. "

"I toured. The rooms were really nice; the majority were private. They had an open house type of event when I was there, which was kind of cool, and I met a few people. Liza was very nice. She gave me a good tour. They had some nice amenities like the library and entertainment room."

"I toured the assisted living. The only thing I was disappointed in it was that I could not visit my loved ones in their apartment because I'm not vaccinated. This is in Los Angeles County, Los Angeles, and it is just very strict as far as COVID. Other than that, I was very pleased. I came unannounced, and it was 5:30 p.m. Dinner was waiting for the staff there, but she said goodbye to me an hour and 45 minutes later. She also offered me some food. I noticed some residents were watching some movies they choose that were interesting, too. They're classics and not just little silly flicks. There was a woman in the activity room, and the salesperson knew her by name. Their rooms had character. The staff said, "I go up to IKEA and get ideas on how to use space." So she was giving me ideas since it's unfurnished. She was very helpful, positive, and upbeat. She's an excellent tour guide. She answered questions and offered ideas. She introduced me to the memory care person who I really appreciated. She was very, very caring of the residents. She said, "I've been here for several years. I love this." The tour guide gave me an opportunity to meet other people, especially the staff. She showed me the rooms. They were empty, which is fine because I don't need to see a model one. I saw one room that opened onto the bathroom, which seemed even more spacious. And there were studios, which pricewise works well and is doable, and yes, they did have an opening."

"My friend moved into Bliss Care Home. This is a boarding place. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are very nice. Everything is very nice. It has a nice backyard, lots of fruit trees, an area where they can sit out, and a covered gazebo. Their living atmosphere is friendly, quiet, and nice. They have activities for the guests. The other three women that are there are nice. She has someone to converse with. I would put someone in there again if I had to. I would use their services again. I haven't found a problem with them."

"My mom is doing good here. The staff is friendly; the facility is clean. My mom likes the food that they serve. She has no complaints so far. "

"This facility is beautiful and super clean. Staffs are very friendly, they treat the residents here like their own family."

"My husband has moved into Crescendo Senior Living of Placentia. I'm very happy with the workers. It's a relatively pleasant place. It's not as luxurious as some of them are, but the physical characteristics are very nice. The staff members have been great, too. I have not tried the food, but my husband seems to be eating well there. They have regular food that they offer, and then they also have choices you can make if you don't want what they're regularly serving. The room is nice. My husband has a shared room, but there's no other occupant right now. It's clean and very light. They have activities specifically geared for the memory care unit. There have been some game-type things that they play. There was one day when they were playing a game together."

"I toured Oakmont of Capriana. There was a little miscommunication of my going out for a visit. When I went, there was a little mix up, but the woman was very, very kind. She said, "Please come back when I have more time," but we did walk through, and oh my goodness, it was a lovely place. She even gave me a little cart of cheeses and sausages and apricots as I left, and she said, "This is for you, and you can eat it on your way home." She was waiting for me there. It's a gated community, and she opened the gate right away when I came. She was very kind, and the receptionist was very kind, too. She answered questions. I saw that the residents have snacks every day. They have fresh baked cookies. The residents were just sitting out there. I went to different activity rooms. It was a beautiful setting. Outside, the courtyard was very inviting for the residents. And I said, "Where is everybody?" She said, "They just had a Father's Day there." I saw the movie place, and they were watching It Happened One Night, and there were several people there. One disappointment was, when I talked with them on the phone about prices, I thought they would have a studio. But it was a little disappointing because I think it's $145,000 down that you put in and you don't get it back unless you move out, so I knew my loved ones couldn't do that for a studio. When I went there, I thought that the studio would be an option, and I don't know if it's really an option for new residents to come in, and that was a disappointment. However, she was just very inviting, and just wonderful. The building was very nice and very well kept. The food looked outstanding. Even the waiters were very polite, very professional, and very well dressed. I thought it was an excellent idea for the seniors that at each meal they have a sample. I don't know if it's wax or real, but it shows exactly what the meal is, so that if they can't read or if they're not quite computing or for whatever reason, it helps them see immediately what the choices are individually. They could also eat inside or outside."

"I visited Villagio at Capriana. The main girl there is great. She is very personable. It's a beautiful facility. However, I can't see my father being in a facility like that. He is going to be 93 in April and he has dementia. He needs one-on-one all day and all night care, but they can't offer that at a facility like Villagio at Capriana. I stay in contact with them. The girl there is very sweet, but it is just not the right fit for my father's situation. I think it is safer for him just to be at home. However, it's a beautiful place. It's beautiful inside, and they keep everything meticulous. When I went to Villagio at Capriana, they were doing dinner service, and they had music playing. They seemed to be very hands-on and very caring. The room is just a basic room. It seems very clean and very nice, but you have to bring all your own furniture. My main concern is if you're in memory care, having a closed door just worries me. Even though they have cameras in the room, it doesn't make sense to have closed doors. Also you don't see what's going on all the time. The staff is not looking at the camera 24/7. They're not staring at the camera for everybody's room, so that's just concerning to me. I think they should leave the doors open. That's just my opinion. The food didn't look very appetizing to me either. I think they're doing a great job there, but it is not for everybody. I think it's a great facility."

"They were very friendly and welcoming. I really liked the rooms because they looked very clean, and they had hardwood flooring. Everybody seemed very content. The dining area was very nice and very big. The memory care had a smaller dining area. The grounds were beautiful. I liked that it was very secure."

"My aunt and uncle moved to Bayshire Yorba Linda. They can accommodate a lot of things. The grounds are kept clean and the atmosphere is very inviting. It was very spacious. It didn't seem like everything was kind of crammed in. The people that we met there were very helpful and very kind. We haven't run into any problems as far as helping my aunt and uncle. The food is very good. My uncle is not as social as my aunt. Even within memory care, they have a lot of activities to stimulate their brain, and to keep them busy. We've been very happy with the available activities. The value of memory care is awesome. It's pretty reasonable."

"I know a couple of people who have had family members at Walnut Village or somebody that I know who is there right now, and I really like this place. But one of the drawbacks was that I know I was going to get resistance from my aunt about the cost. Telling her, “Okay, you are going to have to come up with like $200,000 to move in,. I just didn’t think that I was going to get her to understand that. The second thing was that I wanted to keep her near her doctors, and I wanted to keep her closer to where she used to live; although Walnut Village was more convenient for me, it wasn’t convenient for her. It was a very nice place and also maybe a little large. "
