My dad stayed at Berkshire Place for a couple of months. They didn't listen when there were complaints. They did not do anything. They would leave my dad, and when he pressed the button, they never came. They wouldn't let him walk, yet they wouldn't come in to help him go to the restroom. The food was horrible. My dad lost 23 pounds because it was so bad. He wouldn't eat it. They put sauce on everything, and he was not a fan of that. I had to call and complain all the time. The place looked great. It looked beautiful. However, I would never send him there again, ever. The inside and outside of the building looked beautiful. They had activities. The activities director was good. She had a whole calendar full of activities, but my dad didn't want to participate. They need to improve their food. They were understaffed. They needed better communication amongst themselves. One nurse would tell my dad he couldn't go to the bathroom alone, and another nurse would tell him he could.
