Not only were the facilities clean and bright,but the staff were enthusiastic, genuine and caring. It was clear that every resident is cherished.

The staff at Freeport Place were the best thing about it. They were friendly and extremely patient, as my mother was not an easy person to care for or get along with, and would pick favorites and enemies. But all the staff treated her with respect and friendliness (if wary at times) despite her unfriendliness to some of them. Freeport Place had good food every day, and some days it was excellent. It was always clean and the decor, which leaned toward country blues and floral themes, was peaceful and cozy without being too institutional-looking. I was never worried about my mother's care there. I also enjoyed being able to take my mother out and bring her back at whatever hours we chose, with a very simple signout procedure. I liked that I could always see staff present and alert at whatever time I came in or out. Also, I appreciated the personal attention given to me by the staff, including offering to bring me tea or snacks at off hours, such as when my mom and I were watching TV in her room together.
