I toured Ashton Gardens Gracious Retirement Living. They had beautiful grounds and nice rooms. There's a very friendly person who took us around. However, we were looking for a younger crowd. The staff members were very attentive, especially the dining room staff. The food was very good. We had fresh salmon that day. They had a beautiful library and a van that goes everywhere. I think their rooms were too small though.

I am currently living at Ashton Gardens Gracious Retirement Living. I like that it's quiet here. It's comfortable, and I like the good, friendly people. The staff was friendly, I am very pleased. The food is okay, but not great. The facility is good, too. We have lots of activities, which include bingo, trips off-site, a library, television, and movies. The atmosphere is very comfortable and pleasant.

We were impressed with Ashton Gardens Gracious Retirement Living. That's one where you don't pay an entrance fee. They have very nice rooms. They have a meal plan. They have a nice outdoor space. We were very positively impressed with it. It's a modern place. They have lovely grounds. They have a lot of activities with get-togethers, parties and things like that for the people. We still get to hear about them from them. The staff members were really good. The place was very nice.

As soon as there's availability, I'll be going to Ashton Gardens Gracious Retirement Living. They seemed to be (and continued to be) transparent. My sister and I are living in this house together, so we were looking for something in Portland. And this allowed me to have two dogs, which I have. In many of the places that we looked at, there were several that were lovely, but would only allow one pet. They have pretty much the whole range that all the rest of them have like three meals and housekeeping. There is no assisted living facility or part of the building that is dedicated to assisted living, but they help you to get in touch with local healthcare services in the Portland area. I can't think of a service that other places have that they don't, so it's complete with a theater and a snack bar. I have friends who live there and have been there for a year and a half. Everyone we've met has been delightful. Today I had lunch there for the first time, and it was excellent. As is everybody in these times, they're having trouble getting adequate staff. They were working as hard as they could, but there weren't enough people to get all the food out and hot at the same. But it was well-prepared and interesting. It was not boring food. I think it is relatively new. It's very well decorated. It's beautiful. It's very well put together. The plan of the apartments is excellent. It's very open with lots of windows. They certainly have quite a list of activities. And during lunch, they announced what was happening today and four or five things were happening this afternoon, and it seemed like a broad range of stuff. In terms of value for money, it seems to be right on par with other facilities of the same kind in the area. It's within cents and dollars of other facilities like it. So I think it's probably a bargain because the other things are so good.

I visited a friend in Ashton Gardens Gracious Retirement Living. It's lovely. I think my friend has too many memory problems to go there, and the apartments, they do not have any stovetop, there's a microwave, or you can have your own microwave I guess, and a refrigerator. There was no stovetop, and my friend wanted to cook greens and supplement the meal, so at that point, I ruled it out for that reason. But it's a beautiful facility. The dining room was lovely. The people were friendly and seemed very happy. There were a lot of activities. The rooms that I saw, they're fairly small, but they have their own bedroom, plus a living area, and their own bath. It's next to the Portland Trail trail, but that trail was steeper and more difficult to walk. My friend had her own balcony which is good since she happened to be a smoker. They had a very nice library, it was inviting. It was one where you'd like to go, sit, read, and visit with others. The common areas where they had puzzles and so forth were very inviting. I did not meet any staff, and there was no one greeting people. You had to sign something that you hadn't been exposed to Covid, and you had to take your temperature. They were having a ball. They had a mystery game. It was an outside group that came in and they were all taking part in it. It was a Halloween thing. Each of them played a part in the murder or something, it was cute. The patio was very nice. It was very clean.

My mother is in Ashton Gardens right now, and it's good. They're very customer service oriented, and they've got friendly staff. They have a nice and clean facility. The food is above average. They have a library, a recreation area, exercise facilities, a gardening center, and a movie theater. They're understaffed, and I think they've just been very busy to be as attentive as they probably should be. It's a good value. They need to have some skilled nursing care on-site to provide people like my mom's eligibility, so her long-term care will be able to pay for that. The reason we're looking to move is that her long-term care insurance company will not pay for her housing there because it's independent living.

Ashton Gardens is a very new facility. It was very clean, very well kept, and nicely landscaped. It's just a very nice-looking place. There wasn't anything we didn't like about them. It was really nice. The staff who toured us was well-informed and very personable. She hadn't been there really long, but she definitely knew the answers to our questions.

I went to Ashton Gardens Gracious Retirement Living. It was OK. I thought they are crowded. It was large. It looked very attractive. It's very plush. It's a very nice, good cafeteria. They were doing a fitness group with about ten people. It was very clean. The apartments were good sized. The staff was very good, very friendly, and not very pushy. She showed me the library. It was nice.

Ashton Gardens Gracious Retirement is fairly new. They went out of their way show me different apartments to choose from, and there was one that I fell madly in love with. If I could have afforded it, I'd be preparing to move there now. It had a wonderful view over some woods, which they said had lots of owls and other birds. I could even get a glimpse of Casco Bay, and it had a balcony where I could sit there and look at Casco Bay, and it was nicely laid out. It's a fairly new building. I just liked it a lot. A friend of mine had just moved in down the hall. I don't think they have anything else other than independent living, which was a few things where they weren't ideal. It's a nice location, the grounds are well laid out, and it is next to a walking path. It struck me as wonderful.

Ashton Gardens Gracious Retirement Living is newer, bigger, and glitzier than the other places. When you walk in there's a huge crystal chandelier. My mother didn't like it beause that's not her style. The marketing person was very nice to us, very lovely, and really wanted my mother to go there. It would have been fine.

My mother stayed at Ashton Gardens Gracious Retirement Living, but she needed some extra help. It was beautiful and brand new. It was good for her, but they didn't offer any kind of help there. It's completely independent. The food was good, but there was constantly staff turnover. They offer a lot of outside activities in the City of Portland. It was a nice facility.
