Cambridge Place

I visited my mom at Cambridge Place yesterday. The girl who is part of the administrative staff was very kind and very helpful. My mom has sundowners, so at night, she sometimes thinks that somebody is in her room and that scares her, so we asked for a private room. However, they don't have any private rooms right now. Right now, there's another bed in my mom's room, and she doesn't have a roommate yet, but we wanted her to have a private room, so I don't know if that's going to be possible or not. The building is clean and neat. As for the food, I've seen what they brought in, but Mom says it's not very good. And I haven't seen them do any activities. Their dining area is not much to look at; it looks like a basic cafeteria.

Mom moved to Cambridge Place. We chose this place because they had Medicare beds available immediately, and it had just been bought out by a new company, so everything is being refurbished. The staff has been very attentive to our needs and have been able to help us with the Medicaid filing and everything. They are ramping up new activities. They just hired a new activities director. They have a salon, a courtyard, rehab gyms, and a full time physical therapist on staff. Everything so far seems to be in step with what they have told me, and the cost seems to be in step with the going rate that's out there.

My mom had stayed at Cambridge Place. It was a wonderful place. I was very happy with them, and I was extremely pleased with their services. They worked hard, and they took good care of my mom. My mom was only there for two months, and she was not responsive, but she had all that she needed.
