"The thing I liked least about Locust Ridge was the location. What I liked was the cleanliness, the care, and the patient interaction with the staff. From what I saw, they were very good, very caring, and very attuned to the patient's needs. Seemed like they wanted to be there. It's an older building, but it's very well kept and very clean."

"My mother moved into Ohio Valley Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. It's been fine so far. She's in 14-day quarantine, but the move in was smooth, and helping me get the Medicaid set up was very helpful, I couldn't have done it without them. Dropping things off for her and communication on the phone has been really good. Her apartment is beautiful. I got to go in, decorate it, and set everything up for her, buy her things, and when she moved in, I got to go in and show her where everything was, what we bought, and what was hers. The staff is friendly, nice, and very, very helpful. If they say they're gonna do something, they've done it every single time, they're very easy to work with, flexible with their schedule, like when I could come and set up her apartment, or when she could move in. It was a smooth transition. She loves the food."

"My wife is in a rehab convalescent home at Batavia Nursing Care Center. She has been staying there for over two years now. She loves it. The staff there is excellent. They all seem to be very caring and everything. She hits a buzzer and they're right there. They take good care of her. They do everything for her. They cut her food up, they use a Hoyer lift to get her in and out of bed, and she has a wheelchair that they push her around in. She seems to like the food, too. She says they give her enough. They have very good maintenance on the buildings, like if the clock is wrong, they fix it. The rooms are excellent. The yards are all cut and clean. There is no garbage going around. They allow pets there. I take my pup in there to my wife and all the attendants and nurses come and look at him and play with him. My wife seems to like activities. They play bingo, horse races, and a few other games. They have dinners like Christmas and Thanksgiving, and stuff for the people and their families. I don't have any complaints about the place."

"Sunrise Manor In Amelia, Ohio is a great assisted Living Facility. My Grandmother has spent many years there. There are many great activities for the residents to attend. They can play bingo, games, and fun brain quizzes. It keeps them active and excited for the next day. Family members are more than welcome at any time of the day. The staff are all very friendly and caring towards family and the residents. Staff members are willing to do anything to keep all the residents. They take residents for walks through the facility and assist them in everyday activities. The facility is very well organized and clean. Their is a very elegant dining room with seats for all the residents. The food is good so that's a added bonus. Overall the resident are very comfortable and happy in the environment they are in. I would recommend this assited living facility to anyone interested. "

"I have been so impressed with the dedicated staff at Sunrise. As is the case with just about and care home in Cincinnati; they are short staffed. They made my cousin feel as if he was the only one who mattered when they were working with him. The physical therapists went way above the call to help my cousin; including helping him obtain a drivers license renewal. The nurses were very kind to him and genuinely cared about his wellbeing. The room was adequate, but dated; and this was reflected in the more reasonable price."

"Not only were the STNA's amazing at their job, but they also made my grandmother feel very at home while she was there. They were nice and respectful towards her, and the rest of my family while we were there. The facility was very clean and seemed to be ran very well. Even though my grandmother was suffering from Alzheimer, they made her feel like she wasn't going "crazy" and she always talked about the nurses and how amazing they were. Even towards the end she always had nice and kind things to say about the staff. I would honestly recommend any and everyone that I know/ people that I don't know to Adams' County Manor. "

"We went to Eagle Creek Nursing Center. My mother-in-law needs a locked-down facility because she has dementia and Parkinson's, and they don't have the facilities. If it's assisted living, they can help me. We don't want her to go to a facility where she can get out and she can get lost in a community and that isn't good. It was nice. They were helping senior citizens there. It was in the daytime that I had gone in the facility and they have a buzzer just to notify the nurses of anybody that is going in and out of it. They gave me some information on home health care aides, but the insurance that my mother-in-law has would not cover it. She has to have a locked-down unit. The staff was nice and real courteous. They gave me information and they were willing to help me. They were experienced in their field because I asked them questions, and they were really good. The rooms were neat and clean. When you go in the rooms, every bed was in the same spot and it was neat and clean. You have to supply all their needs, their masks, and everything. You have to write down everything they have and every kind of medicine they take and they have doctors and nurses there, so any time they need it, they can have them. They take them to the store or family members can come and take them out. I've seen nurses attend to people there, and they gave good service."

"I have visited the facility on a few occassions for various reasons. It is not a large facility for the size of the community, but still seems to accomodate very nicely for the amount of residents. The staff for the most part seem helpful and friendly and most seem to have a personal connection with the residents. Rooms are clean, and the facility on a whole is kept very well. It does however give a little bit of a 'cold' appearance inside, and lacks a little bit in giving a 'home' feeling. I've visited other facilitys that do better in accomplishing this. I've been there a couple of times when there where community events going on, and the facility seems to invite outside activity in, to make the residents feel they are still connected to the outside world. I know that kids from the nearby headstart visit on some holidays to sing and socialize with the elders. Overall, it seems to be a very nice place and most that I have been associated with that have stayed there seem pleased. I have also known several family members of residents there, and they are usually very pleased with the care thier family recieves. "

"The experience with this assisted living provider was a good one. The facility was clean and was nice smelling compared to most. The staff members were very polite and really took care of my grandfather when he lived there for a short period of time. He never had complaints of being there or dealing with the staff. He only had his usual complaints of being at any facility about food, but that is only because it is healthy food and not junk food. The area in which he got to move around was nice and quite big compared to many other places. It seemed like a really well prepared facility and seemed as they were ready if anything, such as disaster like fire or electric going out, were to happen. It really seemed to comfort our family that this facility provided for our grandfather the way that they did. It put our minds as well as his to ease. The staff really took a liking to him and he seemed to enjoy himself for the time he was there. "

"We chose Otterbein Union Township for dad because they had full nursing care and they're very accommodating to our needs. They have a courtyard and they've been keeping the place fairly clean. He's using his Medicare benefit right now to pay for it. I think he likes the food, too."

"My mother is at The Glen. It seemed like the most appropriate place for the needs of my mom at this time. The staff has been very helpful. The room is set up really nicely. The bathroom really accommodates her being able to move around in a wheelchair. So far, everyone has been extremely helpful, and always courteous and kind. The dining area is very nice, but due to the COVID situation, they're not actually eating in the dining room. She says the food is very good. It's kind of hard to rate the experience in the dining room because they are just trying to get back to being able to actually use it. There is an activity program, and they recently had a Chinese New Year party. It's kind of hard to rate what it would be outside of the COVID situation because they're limited on what they can do at the moment because of the restrictions in our state due to COVID, as far as taking the seniors out on trips. The activity director has plans for outdoor gardening projects, and trips, and entertainment coming in. My mother has only been there a little bit, so I don't really know what all has happened. She was just getting settled in, and due to the COVID situation, so many of the things they would be doing, they can't do at this time. I know they are doing craft classes, and having some entertainment streamed, and small group parties. I believe everybody has done the very best they can to try to make my mother feel comfortable and welcomed. She says the food is good. Everything's very clean and nice looking, and seems to be kept up well. We had a few issues when she first moved in. We had a door that had to be fixed. It's not actually their fault, they can't do a lot right at the moment. Price is pretty comparable to other places in our area. As she declines, they actually have the full skilled nursing side of their community."

"The facility was really nice. It was well kept and very clean. The staff did a good job getting to call lights most of the time. It seemed like there weren't enough aides as there should have been. The managers didn't seem to care for the residents as much as they should have. Everyone was really nice at the facility. The activities staff seemed to be very busy. They had the activity calendar posted outside the activity room. Each day the residents had the option to attend at least 5 activities. The dietary department had good cooks. However, the food didn't always get to the residents as fast as it should have. The kitchen always had several choices for each meal. There was always multiple different items such as cottage cheese, or mashed potatoes, different soups and sometimes grilled cheeses for substitutes that the residents could get at any day for lunch or dinner. Overall, the facility was a nice place. "

"My mother entered this facility after a fall, hoping to recover. Instead, she declined rapidly. Once vibrant and outspoken, she became confused and withdrawn. Her oxygen concentrator failed, backup tanks were empty, and nurses delayed responding—even during emergencies. I found her soaked through her bedding, left unattended, and without her necessary medications like Humira. Despite repeatedly telling staff this was not her normal behavior, they showed little urgency. Her breathing worsened, and only after multiple requests did they order a chest X-ray. She contracted Influenza A during her stay and passed away shortly after. This facility was supposed to help her heal. Instead, it failed her completely. I wouldn’t trust them with anyone I love."

"My mom has been a resident here for over 9 weeks now. So far I like what I see. I visit pretty much every other day, sometimes every day, sometimes skipping 2 days in a row. She is well taken care of and they are very kind to her. She has told me often that she doesn't want to leave here; she looks very happy most of the time. Everyone knows her name, and I feel she gets personal care and the nurses take time with her. The kitchen staff are wonderful, as are the ladies who clean the rooms. Most everyone is friendly and seem caring. The facility does not have a nasty odor when you walk into the front door like most rest homes do. If the quality changes I will certainly post a review reflecting that. I'm sure no place is perfect and there are issues everywhere, but saying that I will also say this- you can't please every one, and some people are just nasty and would complain if they found a hundred dollar bill because it was wrinkled. Also not sure that an occasional visit qualifies a person to make a sound judgement call. "
