Regretful

The rooms are cramped, stuffy, and outdated. The odor was overwhelming at times. The staff with whom we dealt were unprofessional and uncaring. The nurse smelled like a chimney, which was off-putting. The whole staff seemed lackadaisical. One got the impression that caring for the residents was a bother.

I have been so impressed with the dedicated staff at Sunrise. As is the case with just about and care home in Cincinnati; they are short staffed. They made my cousin feel as if he was the only one who mattered when they were working with him. The physical therapists went way above the call to help my cousin; including helping him obtain a drivers license renewal. The nurses were very kind to him and genuinely cared about his wellbeing. The room was adequate, but dated; and this was reflected in the more reasonable price.

Concerned in Cincy

I told the facility my dad needed transport. 1 woman shows up with no wheel or help. She had to go back and get a wheel chair and van to get him. I called about this mess up. Then they brought him back 5 days later with none of his clothes but 1 shirt and a pair of shorts. They kept his pill organizer ( something i need to keep track ) and all the bottles of meds i was told to send him. His bloodbpressure is high and his feet swollen which makes me wonder if they even bothered giving him his morning meds. I now have no clothes he can wear and still waiting on them to get back with me. All in all my take from this experience screams incompetence.

My dad was actually placed in Sunrise Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation, and we had to get him out of there because the staff was incompetent. He was placed in there for two weeks, and then three staff tried to force him to take a shower. He got aggressive with them, and they're not even nurses -- they were staff. They don't know how to work with dementia patients, and yet they have dementia patients coming into their facility. That place was very dirty.
