My brother was at Helmwood Healthcare for rehabilitation. He had some physical disabilities that had to be dealt with that we couldn't do at home, so he was there for three months. Helmwood is very nice. It's very clean and homey. They tried to make everyone feel at home. They had a lot of personal touches. The rooms weren't really large, but they were large enough. Everyone who lived there has some of their own furniture and easy chairs and television. If you needed nursing care, they were able to isolate you with some curtains that would pull out. It was just a very nice, updated facility. The staff was very nice, very pleasant, easy to talk to. They seemed to really care, took the time to know every person individually. They really took a lot of interest in my brother. They do in-house activity every day. They have a church, and they go outside of the facility at least once a week. They've gone bowling, and they've just done a lot of different things. The food was pretty good. The best thing, I think, was the personal care and personal attention that they gave. They have an interest in every individual. He was happy there.
