My mother has been a resident for several years. My complaints have been minimal. She is clean and the food is appropriate for older patients. The staff takes the time to up date on any changes made with her meds or other needs. The building is older and is clean .

Rooms are small but the bathrooms are even worse. Wheelchair scrapes the doorframe with someone assisting, patient couldn't do it alone. Temporary staff that have been hired are always on their cell phones. No activities as I was assured of. Nothing inspiring or motivational at all for the Memory Care wing. Laundry was actually taken to the local laundromat to get done because staff were not available and equipment broken. Rooms are not properly sanitized. Bathrooms left in total disarray and not enough space to share shelving for toiletries for 2 people. The sales pitch I was given was not accurate at all.

My father is in Golden Livingcenter - Brandywine. They've got some good, caring people, but then they've got some that don't seem to be caring at all. They've got him in isolation right now, the rooms are small, the bathroom is extremely small, and it has to be shared by four people. It's not a very good situation. They have a place for you to sit out front. It seems to be clean, but I don't get to go in there much now with this COVID thing. I can't see that he's improved any, and the therapy room was very small and cramped.

Rooms are not maintained because "we don't have the time". Patient needs aren't taken care of in a timely manner. The building smells of urine. Every day I arrived at 1PM and my loved one was wet and unbathed. I paid them to do their jobs. I did their job and would be finishing up and someone would dawdle in saying "I can finish up". WHY??? This was the daily routine for 6 days. The PT department was lacking in patient progress. The staff heats and eats their food in the therapy room in front of patients. Patients are not given an activity schedule nor invited to activities. The food? Bologna sandwiches are unacceptable!!! I was paying privately for care. I was told by admissions that meals were included.

Admin always nice and professional, when u can find them. They seem to be in meetings all the time. Corporate should understand that the resident and the family ate more important. Especially since this is a for PROFIT. The food is institutional fare. YUK, but u can bring in food. The rooms are extremely small for 2 people and 1 tiny bathroom. Cleanliness is not a word to which I would use. The follow up here is non existent. They are suppose to notify u if resident is sick, has fallen, needs labs, etc Poor, poor, to non existent! If they are handing ur loved ones laundry, keep an inventory. Clothes disappear. And they can't tell u why. Or what they are willing to do to remedy the situation. I cannot in good faith say anything positive about this place. PLEASE BEWARE!! DO YOUR HOMEWORK.

Dee, Kodi and everyone at Brandywine are wonderful and caring people. They have helped and provided guidance to me in helping admit a family member that transferred from another state, but when we had an unfortunate accident with my mother in law, they stepped up to help again and made the admission, rehab and care an easy transition. What an incredible group of people and a great facility in our community!

The staff seem very nice and the place seems safe. However, there is the air of sadness in the place that is typical of nursing homes.

Excellent, compassionate and upbeat care for all levels of nursing home needs, but especially the ALZ unit, which is run by Luann O. And, may I add: CLEAN. While no place is perfect, I have had relatives in at least a half dozen nursing facilities, and this is, by far, the best. It is homey, not fancy -- but I think this makes a friendlier and more comfortable environment. My husband's mother has been in this facility for well over a year now, so I think we have had a solid period of time to evaluate them. They care about the patients, as well as their families.
