My Mother has lived at the Villas for over a year and loves it. She's very active, participates in most activities and is well cared for. I've spent the night with her several times so have seen the caring attitudes of all of the staff. The staff has turned over quite a bit, however, the guidelines for hiring seem solid in that even the new folks have a very caring attitude. The reason I didn't give 5 stars is because they don't offer auto pay options, they're still dealing with cash or checks at the front counter.

The people at Autumn Fields Savoy all seemed nice. They had a lot of different activities. It just seemed like a nice area, but the rooms they had opened if we wanted to go there were right along the railroad tracks. We currently live close to the railroad tracks, but we don't live that close. I was afraid my husband would be upset if he heard the train banging together because sometimes they disconnect the cars. It's probably better on the inside or the center away from the railroad track. It's only one side of their building; the other side wouldn't be affected as much. The room had a living room, a bedroom, accessible bathroom, a small area if you want to make your own meal, and it had a microwave and a small refrigerator. The staff members were all very friendly, nice, and explained any questions we had. The dining area was very nice, roomy, and light. The facility was maintained. They had activities going on when I was there. They had different things that you could sign up for to go on a bus to go somewhere. I liked it.

We ended up moving my mother to Villas of Holly Brook of Savoy. The staff was absolutely lovely and very helpful. However, I have just found out that both people that I met at that time are no longer there, so I’m not very happy about that. The amenities were very nice and inlcuded a gym, movie theater, courtyards, and beautiful sitting areas. I know there was a game night, bingo, and cookouts outside in the courtyard. I think she likes it there.

I visited Autumn Fields Savoy. It was very nice, but my mom just needed more care than they offered. They were great. Like I said, it would be a great community for someone with a little more independence and ability, but my mom just needed higher care. The room is very clean and lovely. The food looks very good.

Autumn Fields was a beautiful place. Right now, they only have two people living there because they've just opened. It's going to end up housing around 75 or 80 people in there, and I thought that my mother needed a smaller place where she got more individual care. They had a closed-in courtyard and a lot of things going on in a center rec room. Most of the rooms were shared, and I didn't much care for that. My mother is a private person, and I don't think she would like that. It was very nice and very pretty. There wasn't a whole lot going on, but we were shown where all things happen. It was OK, but I just didn't like that there are going to be too many people for my mother. I just think they need more individual care.

My mom will be moving in at Villas Of Holly Brook. We chose them because their price was a little bit more reasonable than others. Some of the other communities, there is a base price and then there is a tier 1 to 4 level of care which is add-on. At Villas Of Holly Brook, it is all inclusive whether you're level care 1 versus level care 4. I really like that. The price was a big factor. The director seemed wonderful. The room was more on the large size versus smaller size as some room. They have activities, they have a movie room, and they have things that they can do. They also have a courtyard. The room that my mom picked has a sliding glass door that goes out into the courtyard. The rooms all have little kitchenette. In the kitchen, they have a locked box where they can keep medicine. There is a spot to put a small bistro table. The living room is not really big, but it is bigger than some of the places I've seen. The bedroom is a pretty good size as well as the bathroom. One thing that I did notice is that it does have a walk-in closet. Some of them did not have walk-in closet in the bedroom. The activities looked like a nice full calendar of things to keep the residents busy or entertained whether it is movie nights, shopping, or cards. They definitely have a lot on the calendar.

The food is great. They have three meals a day, and they're just fantastic. It is a new building, so the staff is still kind of learning how to deal with all these people. They still have people moving in. It's just an adjustment period for everybody. There are one- and two-bedroom apartments with a kitchenette in each. If they want meals in their rooms, they can request a tray be brought to their room, but the staff does check on you if you don't show up for meals to make sure if you want to eat or if you want a tray delivered to your room. They have an activities director, and they take them to field trips, to museums, they bring agencies in for Show and Tell and demonstrations, they have morning exercises, they have a coffee clutch, bingo, dominos at night, and a pool table. They're building up their calendar of activities, but the positive attitude of the staff is what's impressive about Villas of Holly Brook - Savoy.
