Numerous visits over several years confirm first impressions. Magnolia Retirement Home operates on a shoestring budget. Minimal, perhaps sub-minimal staffing, facilities maintenance, operations, resident health and welfare, food services, room upkeep, all-around operations are significantly below industry standards. Question is – where does the money go? Magnolia has a 56% occupancy rate. They make a case for being undercapitalized but that neither explains nor excuses their poor management practices.
