The therapists are very warm and willing to give the family regular updates on loved ones progress. I worry about evening time because there does not seem to be enough people working to take care of the patients. I see people sitting by the nurses area in wheelchairs trying to get someone's attention. The staff is hard to find most of the time and you can wait up to 15 minutes for someone to answer the light, I see a lot of people playing on their phones. The nurses are busy talking to each other and can be very rude when you ask them a question. We had family here last year and many of those nurses are not there any longer. I am very disappointed in this stay.

If your loved one is on any medications, you may want to check into a facility other than Life Care Center. I have been trying to get them to correct any mistakes on my mom's medications and I'm still having to correct the nurses and the house doctor as to her correct meds dosing and time of administering the meds. It has been very very frustrating and I am losing my faith in those at Life Care Centers.

Its a worrisome process when the staff at the hospital gives you a list of over 20 rehab centers and says pick one or 2. We knew of Seapines and Melbourne Terrace. As they were both filled we ended up bringing my 85 year old mom here. At first glace she was extremely anxious but everyone said give it a day or two..We did and miraculously our mom took to this place. The nurses and Aides are all so nice and attentive. I got a call from someone in the physical therapy room and went in at lunch time and was amazed there were over 30 red shirts sitting having lunch.. What a tremendous staff and very caring handling my mom and her new shoulder after a reverse shoulder surgery. There were a few bumbs sharing a room etc.. But over all a great place for my mom to rehab and meet like minded people suffering with similar problems..There is a hair dresser on Tuesdays and Wednesdays which is fantastic. Who doesn't feel better after surgery getting a good hair wash and blow dry. There is also manicures on Wed afternoons. Not to mention Music, Communion, bingo and lots of fun distractions from their everyday workouts. or 6 days a week in PT..The food is good and mom wanted mostly fruit platters and yogurt they were quick to accommodate her..But sometime she choose the meatloaf and mashed potatoes.. It is an Excellent facility and I would recommend it to family and friends.

I always wanted the best for my parents. I said I would care for them till the end of life and would ever have my parents live and be cared for at a skilled nursing home. However, with a young family and my parents dimensioning health I knew I couldn’t do it alone. At first this was heart breaking to me but I quickly came to realize that Life Care had much more than the best rehab, skilled nursing, CNA’s and doctor. They have extremely engaged concerned and loving employees. (Every employee no matter what their role). I was always warmly welcomed from the minute I walked into Life Care and greeted at the front. This welcome ever stopped at the front but it would continue up and down the halls by every employee. The whole staff truly cares about not only the patients but the patient’s family. They always had an ear to listen and a how can I help attitude. Life Care has touched my parents and my life more than anyone could ever imagine.
My parents have gotten so much more care and love than I could ever have given to them by myself. For this my family is so grateful and blessed.
Thank you for everything you do each and every day

I am/was a resident of this facility
I was a resident at Life Care for 4 months. The physical therapy was great. They work hard at getting you better. The dining room was beautiful and the food was great. The care provided during the day and evenings was fantastic. However the late night staff was horrible. They stood in the hallways and yelled back and forth to one another at the top of their voices laughing and carrying on. Most of the time if you turned on your signal light for assistance in the late hours they would either completely ignore you or they would come in and turn off the signal and say they would be right back and then never return. Complaints to higher ups did nothing to resolve the problem.

I am/was a resident of this facility
I was at Life Care Center of Melbourne. I spent quite a bit of time there last year. It was a good facility. It was always clean. The nurses were always attentive. They seemed to really care. I had a sponge bath everyday. However, they could improve on having more staff. The food was good though. Overall, I had no problem there. I really like the physical therapists and they had activities for everyone. There was always something for you to do. They believe in a family atmosphere and they pulled it off. I would recommend this facility.
