Be careful not to stay at this facilty. My wife contracted Covid when she stayed at this location. The room care staff was adequate, the rooms were not always cleaned everyday and the Physical Therapy staff provided very minimal care. The worst part of this location was the ove-billing. I was told my wife's stay would only be billed for the time frame her insurance covered (20 days). I asked the social servixc manager everyday for a week prior to my wife's discharge and they guranteed all charges would be within the insuarance time frame of 20 days. I subsequently received a bill for an additional day. Stay at your own risk.

That place is a shame they don't care about the people there. They cut my mom's leg twice and never cleaned the wounds and no incident reports were made. The beds and trays are nasty looks like puss and or rust on bed and tray. No chair in room so has to sit on bed when visiting. They did not treat my mother well. And the roommate she first had was neglected by the care givers.

My father-in-law came to this facility for rehab. He liked the rehab staff, but the nursing staff, food and care was not acceptable. I would NEVER allow a loved one to stay in this facility again. The care is disgraceful.

I was at Wedgewood Healthcare Center last summer for rehab. I'm diabetic, and one day I had potatoes and rice on the same plate. There were no menus. Whatever they serve, that's what you would have. They had temporary staff almost the whole time. It's very seldom to get the same person for 2 days in a row. Most of them came from an agency. The facility I went to was so I could get my strength back through exercise, and it was pretty consistent. They were nice and good, but the general staff was low at everything. There were no amenities. It's like being locked in a hospital room. Because of Covid, there were no activities.

Was in the center this Time about 2 weeks an had been negative of covid-19 ,well next thing we knew she was POSITIVE WITH THE COVID-19. NOT GOOD. Thank god she is a strong lady. SHE is now after 3 weeks of suffering able to go back to a rehab for therapy for her femur bone. MY FEELINGS ARE CONFLICTED.

The facility is terrible. People lay is soiled diapers for hours before being changed and cleaned up. Therapy is terrible. If a therapist has to clean them up before going to therapy then they consider that therapy if takes a lot of time. Food is almost always cold. Response time once a light is turned on is hours wait time. A person will come in and say they have to get help and its hours before you see anybody. If you really care about a friend or family member this is not the place to go and especially for rehabilitation. Rooms are swept and moped with dirty mop.

If you care about yourself or your family member, DO NOT GO TO THIS FACILITY! I live out of state, and had to return home before he went into this place. Before I arrived in FL, the hospital staff was very gracious and called me daily with any changes, that was certainly not the case at Wedgwood, if they did answer when I called, be prepared to be on hold, I timed it once for minutes before the nurse came to the phone, basically she was no help, she knew nothing about my father. I asked if he ate lunch, her reply was.... 50% actually I found out later from the speech therapist that he had not eaten at all, except 2 bites o sherbet. This is only a fraction of the malpractice of this facility. My father was there for rehab, and died 6 days later. The inadequacy of the staff is a crime. No compassion for the patient or the family, no knowledge in basic nursing skills, I called and asked the nurse if she could give the phone to my father, and she did, and promptly walked out of the room, however my father was in respiratory distress and unable to speak , all I heard was him gasping for breath. The nurse was oblivious to current situation and just walked away! I had to call my fathers neighbor to go to the facility and check on him, because no one would answer the phone at the nurses station! When she arrived my father was in terrible condition and unfortunately passed away the next morning The last words I heard from my dad were gasps of air! My advise is to stay as far away from this facility as possible.

The place is flithy they have patients sitting in hallways an laying in bed asking for the nurse's when there lights on. the lock down unit I have never seen leave, Most the Cna's need to be trained or schooled better if that's not the problem maybe a new profession. Clothes from his room were lost or missed place multiple times

This facility needs to retrain their staff. Had so many bad experiences here with my dad. They don't keep the patients clean like they should. They also have problems in the financial dept. Can't even get your insurance right, with what it covers. Worried my dad and I unnecessarily for days! Then I am the one who got it straight, not them! Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!

My father-in-law is in Wedgewood Healthcare Center. This is probably one of the better nursing facilities, but it's not the best nursing facility in town. They maintain the grounds fairly well. I can't say a lot of positive about the place. They don't have a lot of activities, and they don't encourage the patients to be involved and just wait for the patients.

My friend is in rehab at Wedgewood. It is clean. The people are friendly. My friend doesn't like the food though. The room is OK, nothing special. It has two beds and a private bath. It is not terribly crowded, but it is nothing fancy. It is an older building. What I like best about this facility is the friendliness of the staff. It is very good. Sometimes when you go in other places, they hardly speak to you. In Wedgewood, they don't know me, but they all say, "how nice you look?" or "how pretty your hair is?" or just a big smile and "Hi".

I know a lot of people who have been at Wedgewood Healthcare Center. I had visited some of them there, and occasionally when I would go in, there might be an odor, but when I would come out it was gone, but when you are working with old people on diapers that is to be expected. The floors are clean. The rooms are a good size and very nice. For two beds, they had plenty of room to move around. The staff were also very nice. They have lots of food, and they have a chef who tries very hard to plan good meals. The lady at the desk is very good about where the person you are visiting is at.

When I visited this facility I was in a high school CNA program. The smell was not the best, it smelled like urine. The staff was not the nicest of people except for a few extraordinary individuals. I was able to witness a paraplegic with a bed sore as well as a man who has polo. I was taught how to bath the patient and give a patient a bed pan as well as lifting a patient in a Hoyer lift. One of the better days was when they had an activity day outside and I was able to make cotton candy for the people and serve popcorn. We had a dunk tank and a bean bag toss outside and the patients would receive prizes like stuff animals. I also was able to witness how they fed the patients in the cafeteria there. Everyone was able to sit at round tables as if it were a restaurant and they would socialize and eat their food, some with CNA's that would feed them. After they ate they would look at their meal ticket and write the percent of food that they ate. Everyone in the psychiatric unit was very friendly. That was my favorite place. Meal time was the same only everyone stayed inside that locked down unit. There was one particular patient that would always take off her socks. It was cute.
