My father had a stroke and was in need of Assisted Living after this event. We were able to work with Tara W. to transfer my father from the rehabilitation center. Because of the CornaVirus we had to accomplish all of this on a remote basis. Tara W. helped us plan this transissin helped us get the correct furniture moved and managed getting my father moved over and settled in his assisted living room. She checks on him daily to be sure he is doing well. This move would not have happened as smoothly as it did if not for Tara and the staff at Southern Living. These are crazy times and Tara and here team have made it great fro my Dad!!

We went to the Southern Lifestyle Senior Living Center. The thing we liked about it was when you go in there, you can take a lot of your own stuff with you, your own furnishings and that kind of stuff. Most of the people we talked to there seemed to be very happy with it, the outdoor space they had, and activities that went on within the building. The day we were there that morning, they had an exercise class going on, and there was a lot of local people that volunteered to come in and help too. We had to wear a facemask, a gown, and stuff, and we didn't want to create all that disruption, but we talked to the cook and one of the waitresses, they serve at their restaurant, and it looked fine. They were all very helpful, very nice people. We actually met the receptionist, the gal that was at the front desk where we went in, and we talked to her just a little bit, and then the sales assistant or something, she's the one that got us into gowns and stuff like that. She's the one that took us on a tour. They showed us the different rooms, you know, the options we had, and the place where they dined, then recreation. She took us all through the building and they were very nice. The cleanliness was very good. I was impressed with that. Everything was clean, and that's with all the COVID and everything that was going on.

My mom is at the Southern Lifestyle Senior Living Center. What I like the most about the place is that it's decently close to me. It's also a clean and nice facility with good size rooms and outside courtyards. They play bingo, a hairdresser that comes in once a week, card activities, and a little Halloween thing. What I don't seem to care much about them is the staff seems to always be rushed, and there's not a lot of assistance.

Toured this facility today for my grandmother! Everything was super clean and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were a perfect size with their own private toilet and shower! While visiting, they had awesome entertainment - an amazing pianist! The residents seemed to be so happy with the activities going on. I saw several assisted living places in the area, but this is definitely where I will choose for my grandmother!

After visiting Southern Lifestyle Assited Living we found the staff extremely friendly and caring. We were served lunch which was fabulous. We liked that all Southern Lifestyle rooms have a shower in them. Upon touring other ALF's the shower is down the hall and shared by entire floor both male and female. The entertainment for residents was by far the best over the other ALF's. While there they had karaoke for the residents which was so fun. We are definately moving our Mom in here.

I visited this facility with my great grandmother (aging, but still beautiful heiress to a dental floss fortune) and she absolutely loved it! She has lived in a beautiful ocean side estate for most of her life, but now in her later years she needs attentive care close to her family. The staff was so kind and cheerful. She can’t wait to move in!

Best Assisted Living in Highlands County. Nurse in charge of facility is excellent. Very knowledgable and cares about your loved ones medications administered correctly and ontime. Staff is very caring and treats residents like they are family. Facility is clean and updated. Food is fantastic, very healthy with many choices. Facility has activities daily and is always hosting events to entertain the residents. I would highly recommend as no other ALF compares.

We visited a friend at Southern Lifestyle Senior Living Center. It's somewhere that I could live. They were friendly and very nice. The rooms were well cared for, looked very pleasant, and were clean. I know the social director that works there and I know they do a lot of entertaining for the people. They have a nice outside area where you can go in. The staff member that I talked to was very informative.

I am a friend of someone who lived there, it is infested with bed bugs and the staff is unqualified, rude and dishonest. Beware and DO NOT put your loved one there!!!!

A terrible dishonest facility. I placed a relative in this facility and have to admit it was a big mistake. The staff was unqualified and the food was horrible. The prices are close to $4,000 per month in the memory care unit. Th level of care was inadequate.

For the most part, Southern Lifestyle is fabulous. The rooms are huge and wonderful. My dad’s room fits a dresser, his big reclining chair, and a table with chairs, so it’s like his own little home. The bathroom is huge with lots of room and a walk-in shower. It’s just wonderful. I can’t say enough good things about them. We had one little incident, I made a phone call, and it was taken care of immediately, so I’ve been thrilled. They take them out of the facility for lunch or to doctors' appointments or wherever they need to go. There are activities all day, all of the time. There are lots of things dad could do if he wants to. All in all, it’s been really good. He’s happy there and making friends of his own age. Their dining is more of like family-style. The manager is fabulous. It’s like walking into your home there.

They made promises they didn't keep. They were very disorganized with the medications. They said there was a doctor and nurse on staff there was not. The food was blah. He would go for days without a shower until family would visit and shower him. No one cares for your loved one like you care for your loved one.

We went to Southern Life Style. They had lots of activities going on. They had an activities director. It was very bright, light, and airy. It had a nice more open atmosphere. The staff seemed very nice. However, the rooms did not have kitchenette, and they did not have laundry facilities available for the residents. They do the laundry for them. They had a lot of musical programs. They play games. I thought they had shopping trips twice a month. The security was exceptional. However, I thought it was restricted for assisted living.

I visited Southern Lifestyle and I was impressed by the facility. I did not choose it because it was probably 10-12 miles farther from where I lived. It was clean, well-arranged and had plenty of space. The staff were great and the rooms were nice. I would commend this place to others.

My mother has been at Southern Lifestyle for just over a year and is very happy there. She enjoys playing cards, Wii games, and seeing most of the entertainers that come there. There is something going on every day and if she chooses to stay in her room, she is free to do that too. It's a beautiful place, with kind and considerate caregivers that my mother is very fond of. Like many others, she didn't want to leave her home, but realized she could no longer live alone. She chose this ALF and has never been sorry she did. When I visit, all of the staff is very friendly and helpful if I have questions. Everything is also kept very clean and attractive. I hope Southern Lifestyle is still there if I ever need an ALF!

The staff seems to be very kind and willing to help the residents. I did not have any problems with them when I went in to visit my best friend's grandmother. They helped me find her quickly and left us to ourselves. The resident I went to visit seems to be happy with the care they provide. The facility itself is beautiful and provides lots of little fun things for its residents like mini golf and game night.

Given the number of retirees in Central Florida, there are plenty of assisted living facilities and nursing homes to choose from. This has inspired a good deal of competition which works out well for those staying in them. Southern Lifestyles has a new facility which is extremely clean and well laid out. There are many recreation areas, all dedicated to different activities, located throughout the building. They have on the grounds a miniature golf course, shuffleboard, card rooms, TV rooms and quiet areas suitable for reading. I am a local pastor who has frequented this facility to visit elderly members of my congregation and also to perform a weekly church service. Their chapel is small but beautifully decorated with hand-painted murals. In my opinion Southern Lifestyles puts a modest effort into caring for the faith life of its residents. The staff are always friendly, though there are frequent mutterings about the quality of management (an omnipresent muttering in assisted living facilities in general). When I have someone come to me with questions about assisted living the first place I generally direct them to is Southern Lifestyles.
