"Ingleside at Rock Creek was beautiful. The person I talked to was the head of the marketing division and he spent about 3 hours with me. He seemed to be happy to show me around. The apartments were large and beautiful. They had a one bedroom with a den and without, then two bedrooms. They had a really pretty balcony, too. They had exercise places and nice dining areas. It had high ceilings. Everyone was very nice and very accommodating."

"The Independent Living apartments are large and very beautiful. The staff is awesome as they held my hand every step of the way. The residents are very friendly and welcoming."

"They have three meals a day. They have two fishing ponds located out back. They have a doctor on the premises. They have a van that take you around shopping and things. The rooms are a little small. But since they cook three meals a day they don't have kitchen facilities in the apartment. "

"My mother has lived there since January of 2015 and she absolutely loves it! We visit her there (and spend several nights in her apartment) about every 6 weeks. It's so nice that I'd like to live there in my senior years. It's like one big happy family there, with all the residents and staff being so friendly. They have lots of fun activities, outings and the food and service is outstanding. I love swimming in their 91 degree salt water pool. This place is so nice that it reminds me of being on a cruise ship. They have live entertainment often, movies in the theater room nightly, fun activities and outings. We thank God every night that my mother gets to live there. She knows she can live with us again anytime she wants, but honestly it's more fun for her there. The Woodlands drive her to her doctor appointments and wherever she wants to go, plus several of her friends there still have their cars and take her places with them. My mom has never been happier. "

"We visited Kensington Park for my friends. It was absolutely beautiful and wonderful with great food and wonderful people. It was a fabulous facility but a little too pricey. The dining area was very nice too. The rooms, food, and staff were very nice. We loved it all. They had a lot of activities, like going to the theater, or to movies. "

"I'm on a waiting list at Collington A Kendal Affiliate. It has a 125-acre campus and I especially liked the floor plans of the apartments. It seemed much larger than other communities whose floor plans I had looked at. Each apartment has either a patio or an enclosed area. You don't feel like you're living in a hotel room. I was there twice for a meal and the food was excellent. It is a place which is transitional. Should I need assisted living, then that would be available. There was a swimming pool, all kinds of walking trails, and a chapel. There's a doctor who's available, and there's a doctor's office there should you need someone. You could just make an appointment. Parking was very good, too. The whole place was just lovely."

"Comfort Senior Care Facility was very nice. But I just didn't want to share with anybody. They already have somebody in there. Everything is on one floor. They have somebody there who cooks, cleans, and washes your clothes, but it wasn't for me. You had to take the shoes off because of COVID and wear a mask."

"My friend lives in Riderwood. It is a wonderful place. It's very nicely run, diverse, and friendly. The staff is very helpful and very knowledgeable. The food is very good. It's a very clean facility and they have lots of activities. I would recommend them."

"I toured The Village at Rockville and it's a fabulous community. They're expanding. They don't have any 2-bedrooms available, but they made a lot of cottages. They're not within the bounds of the community and you have to take a bus to go anywhere. The food is great. They have about 4-6 restaurants and they have long hours, like from 11 to 2 for meals. The staff comes in and cleans every two weeks for no charge. They have a lot of fun activities and elevators to take you wherever you have to go. It has assisted living and residential assisted living in addition to senior living. But they're in separate areas. They don't take you on tours on the weekend. However, everybody wants to go there. They keep selling out even though their entrance fee is sky high."

"I went to Ingleside at King Farm. It was very, very nice. It wasn't what I was looking for. It is adjacent to condos, and if you are going to walk your dogs, there are no green spaces. It's all sidewalks and stuff and has a very high-rise feel, but it is a very nice high-rise. They're very nice people, too. It had two buildings and a nice distance to the elevator."

"I had gone to see Falcons Landing. It was a wonderful facility. They are so good that they don’t have any availability. It is a very classy place. "

"My mom was in Brooke Grove Nursing and Rehab Center. It was a nice place, and they helped my mom get back on her feet. They taught her how to do diabetes care and things like that. The facility was kept up very well. It was very clean, and it was really appealing. It was set back from the road, and a farmland looking area. She had a private room with a shared bathroom. It was pretty spacious, and comfortable. There was enough room for visitors. We didn't pay for her stay, it was all paid by Medicare."

"The facility was as close to an ideal community for my elderly grandmother. Because of complications due to her diabetes she had a hard time getting around injecting herself with medication and preparing nutritional meals for herself. In this community she was able to maintain her independence by having her own apartment while still having constant supervision. The home included a meal plan that allowed my grandmother to eat prepared meals in a dinning facility with other residents. The dining facility was very formal with set menus and waiters in ties. It made my grandmother feel important at each and every meal. In addition it forced her to socialize which was something that she avoided before she went to he home. Also, the security at the home was top notch without being overly restrictive. A visitor had to sign in to visit a person in the facility but if you were a frequent visitor as I was the facility streamlined the sign in process so it did not feel overly cumbersome. I remember my grandmother telling me that she felt very secure even in the facility without feeling like she was in a prison. "

"I moved to Ashby Ponds. After looking at everything and talking it over with my family and two daughters, this is what we came up with. It seemed to satisfy all of our needs. The financial requirements and everything were in order so that we were able to make it work for us. It's independent living, but they also offer assisted medical attention. It's a large enough community with 2,100 residents, and there's a diverse amount of activities, clubs, and personalities. I think that there are over a hundred different types of activities available, and if one were to participate in everything, there wouldn't be enough time for you to sleep. You do not have anything to worry about, and there's really no reason for you to stay in your apartment once you're here. They have physical fitness locations, gyms, pools, theaters, outdoor activities, indoor activities, games, and cards. There's a variety of restaurants, a total of 9 of them, to go to. All the buildings are connected. There are about 16 buildings in total with some 5 stories, and some 4 stories high. The complex is interconnected, so once you're inside, you don't have to go outside at all to go from one building to the next. It may take you a long time to walk through them all, but you can do so without ever going outside. They have external and internal shuttle services. The external one provides trips to the various markets and other places that the residents frequent on a regular basis. The community is very complete, very friendly, and very accommodating, so it's very good. The staff is very professional. The food is excellent. The place itself is very clean and very well-maintained. I think you get a good value for your money here."
