"This is a great community! My mom loves the staff at Concord and she has been more active and social since moving in! Maybe some of the decor is outdated but its still better than most retirement homes! They have lots of parties and when covid wasn't around they had two really impressive banquets for families during Christmas and Mother's Day. They have a pool, a convenience store, and a resale shop all located within the building. I highly recommend the Concord!"

"I had my mom for a short time at The Village at Victory Lakes and they were awesome. They were very good. The food was fantastic. She loved the food. The staff was very caring and very compassionate there. It was very clean. It was more of a home feeling than a hospital feeling. With COVID, a lot of the activities were shut down at this point, and my mom also was in a situation where she couldn't participate in it. She was there for rehab for a while as well as hospice."

"The Garlands of Barrington is a wonderful. clean, spacious place. I would recommend it to anybody. The staff was very nice during my visit. You can either eat in the common dining room or in your own apartment, and that is wonderful. "

"I liked Covenant Living at Windsor Park. They have laundry facilities located in each apartment. The appliances are newer compared to the other places I went to. It was a very lovely tour. The people and the place were first-rate. The activities were active. Every day, their calendar was filled. There was a room for people to exercise in, and the dining area was lovely. There was a room for creative arts, and they had a lovely library. There was also a garden for the residents to take care of their plants. If you're in a wheelchair, it's easy to get in and out of their doors. The staff who gave me the tour was very kind, and me and my daughters enjoyed seeing everything. We saw the menu and they had choices for residents with specific dietary needs. It catered to everyone."

"I've visited Beacon Hill four times for a total of about 15 hours. The people who had seen me said, "I hope you'll move here because we live here and we like it." I liked it because the people were so friendly. The food is terrific. They have the former chef from the Hancock Building of the Signature Room and he's very happy to work there. The food is delicious in the main dining room. The people were very friendly. They've got a lot of activities. The building was very nice inside, but the apartments that I wanted seemed to face the expressway or Finley Road, which is fairly busy but not as bad as the expressway, so I had to decide if I was going to take a smaller apartment that doesn't face those or with a courtyard view or just pick Finley Road. I'm really sensitive to noise, so I don't like that. That's about the only thing I don't like about it. They take people to different areas for shopping and doctors. The common areas are nice. They've got a much larger gym than the other places did. They've got another smaller gym and a big swimming pool. The apartments are not off of one long hall. They're clustered in groups of ten. They call it wings, so even though there are more people there, I think you get more of a friendship with your neighbors. It's my favorite choice. If you want assisted living and stay in your own apartment, you have to hire somebody for like a half hour to three or four hours. That costs more, but you don't have to go to a separate place. The salesperson was great."

"I have a very close friend that lives at Oak Crest. They have very good care; they give him very good assistance when he needs it. They always have somebody going with him because he can’t be on his own. I’d say the rooms are adequate. They have certain security -- like they always know when somebody comes into the building area; the buzzer goes off. "

"I thought the Covenant Village was a small one, but it's a building that is connected from one building to the other because they have skilled nursing, they have memory care, and it impressed me because the people were not segregated. They can interact with each other in the big dining hall and order food if they want to, or they can also make their own food. There were also small apartments like a home or the independent living, but some of their independent living residents hire a private CNA to come for a couple of hours to tidy up things. It was beautiful. They have a huge library, a salon, and an exercise room. That is probably because they have a rehab center too. Their buildings were connected with a canopy, and they use the middle part as a park, which is a very nice plan because they have an outlet for getting out. Some of the people in the independent living can do their own laundry if they want, or they can ask someone else to get it done for them, but with an additional fee. I was actually overwhelmed by the system and what I saw. It was beautiful, and they have like a restaurant where the assisted people would like to come in, have coffee, and be served just like when they used to do it by themselves, which made me feel great. I thought, "Oh my goodness, I never thought that there is a place like this." It was real and beautiful. I told my mom that this was one of the two places she would be going to if that time would come. "

"During this coronavirus crisis, Oak Trace has been a wonderful place to live. They are taking very good care of their residents and I feel safe and stress free. The staff has gone overboard with announcements, games, videos, exercise workouts, etc. that are all on our in-house TV channel all day long. Our meals (which are soooo good-thanks to our chef and crew) are delivered to our front door and housekeeping keeps our apartments clean on a regular basis. Now that the weather is getting warmer, it is such a delight to take a walk around our community grounds. This is a very tough time for so many people but we here at Oak Trace are doing just fine and making the best of this horrific situation. Let’s hope and pray to God it ends soon."

"Our mother-in-law spent a little over 6 weeks in rehab at CBV after a hip fracture. She had been 89 years old, mentally sharp, and living alone before this. We felt so fortunate to find a bed for her here. The nursing staff and aides were friendly, caring, compassionate, and so understanding of her age group and her physical and emotional challenges. Her physical and occupational therapists pushed her to do a little more each day, and she did finally turn the corner, was able to be discharged, and is now enjoying living in assisted living. We are grateful beyond words for all they did. "

"Plymouth Place was very nice and a very pleasant community. It's a beautiful place and the location is perfect. "

"This facility is located on the north side of chicago it serves a population of adults who have been diagnoised with a developmental disability. They only provide services to female residents. While there I noticed some of the residents were sharing a room. They have a full clinical staff that provides services to the residents 24 hrs a day. the meals are prepared by the staff, and on special occassions and when doing food activites, the staff will allow the residents to assist in the preparation of the meals. The facility is clean, and well-maintained. The staff is very hands on, and the residents seem to have a closeness with one another. In general, I would rank this facility a 4 out of 5 stars. "

"My family visited all of the CCRC's in the region and this was the first one that felt like "home" to us. Well appointed and well run (the staff is awesome) the surrounding forest preserve provided a unique setting very important to my parents. The flexible meal plan was the thing that cinched the deal for us, though. We're very happy."

"King-Bruwaert House was OK. It was very expensive, but if you run out of money, they do not kick you out. They will still care for you. It's not as lavish as when you could afford it, but they won't kick you out. The rooms were OK. There was nothing great. It was just a little stuffy. They have a library and nice grounds. The staff was OK, but the person that was showing me around was not very welcoming."
