I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother has dementia. Regardless of the residents' challenges, the entire staff works as a team, treating the residents with good-natured camaraderie as well as respect. Their attitude is to care for and help each individual with consideration and kindness. Rather than an institutional atmosphere, there is instead a feeling of a friendly community. This is because the staff are friendly, kind-hearted, and positive. ( And this describes all persons there, including administrative, social worker Ann, Chef Tim and his team, recreation, maintenance as well as the nursing staff. ) Their good-natured interaction with my mom and others influences them to feel more relaxed and content, which likewise helps myself and relatives to feel the same.

Chesterfields staff puts in real daily effort. We truly hope they find it in their hearts to continue to do so for the many who need these labor intensive services. Specific individual requests are addressed here. Elder, short and long term healthcare is a difficult business to manage at best. Chesterfields staff and administrators handle most problems with action and care. Meals are on time, varied in content and sufficient to satisfy, delivered kindly. Periodic gatherings with special dinners and/ or dessert parties with entertainment are a morale boost for residents. Group activities are led with enthusiasm. Residents are clean as is witnessed by the air in the place. Belongings and laundry are clean and do not seem to get frequently lost at this facility. Beds are not overly crowded. Meds seem administered accurately. The opportunity for fresh outside air in summer is used and appreciated by residents. The building interiors appearance echoes a feeling of home. The exterior is kempt. Staff appears patient and fosters fairness tho a personal advocate is always important in these conditions. The staff communicates with family on a regular basis. We are glad our family member has had the opportunity to be a resident and more importantly so are they. We hope these words will continue to fuel Chesterfields to lead a much needed advance of this entire industry to carefully balance the compassion needed to care for our most vulnerable population with the business concerns of daily operations.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

MY MOTHER AND FATHER WERE BOTH RESIDENTS AT CHESTERFIELDS . BOTH ARE NOW GONE. I MUST SAY THAT FOR THE MOST PART THEIR CARE WAS WELL DONE,COMPASSIONATE AND CARING. NURSING HOME CARE IS TOUGH BUT CHESTERFIELDS HANDLED MOST ISSUES WELL. I AM GRATEFULL THAT MY FOLKS WERE ABLE TO USE THIS FACILITY.

I am a friend or relative of resident

Do not put your relatives in this facility. My relative severely deteriorated in this facility and they allowed things that never should have happened. When I brought it to their attention and advocated for my relative, they lied and claimed that she did not have certain legal papers, which they were aware of, had her declared incompetent and had me removed not only as her caregiver but from the grounds of the facility, WITHOUT CAUSE. A stranger was made her legal advocate and health care agent, against my relative's permission. This stranger did not advocate for her care properly, to say the least. The administration was more concerned with possibly being sued or not being paid than with patient care.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

The staff was extremely helpful in locating my friend. She had been a patient for only a few days and therefore was released by the time I had visited. The staff led me to her previously occupied room to show me she was gone, and were helpful in directing me to other areas of the facility, such as the room where my daughter would be performing with her dance class for a Christmas program.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

Chesterfields appeared to be extremely dirty. The individual I went to visit did not appear to have been bathed. In addition, the staff did not even notice I had walked in. They had no idea where some of his personal belongings were. The nursing staff appeared to be more concerned with speaking to each other than interacting with the residents. There were over 20 residents crammed around one television. There did not appear to be any other recreation activities available.
