My sister moved to Artis Senior Living of Branford. I looked at maybe four different places. It just by far was the cleanest and the nicest in this particular type of environment. The food is nicely done and nicely cooked. It looks appetizing. The staff is very nice, including the coordinator, Diana, she is extremely well-versed, friendly, and nice to the patients. The rest of the nurses and staff are equally nice. It's a good-sized room. We were able to put in a couple of heavy dressers to make her feel more at home, a bed, and a recliner. She has a very nice bathroom, a walk-in shower, and bars all the way around so she feels secure. It's exceptionally clean and well-maintained, and the grounds are pretty. They're not the cheapest, but they were giving us the best buck for the amount we were paying. The most you can get for it.

This facility is situated on three acres near Long Island Sound in the town of Branford, a charming shoreline city with more than 30 locations on the National Register of Historic Places.
This facility was specially designed for residents with memory care issues and it emphasizes compassionate individualized care. The community is divided into four neighborhoods, each with its own kitchen, dining rooms, family rooms and entryways to outdoor walking paths and gardens. The neighborhoods surround a Town Center, which provides a social gathering place and activity area. A licensed nurse is available 24 hours a day to assist with medical issues. Residents receive assistance with daily living activities such as dressing and grooming and scheduling appointments. The staff also provides housekeeping, linen and laundry services.

I went to look at Artis Senior Living of Branford. I like the social aspect of it, like group activities. They offered day trips. The woman doing the tour is very helpful and informative. The rooms are a little small. My wife uses a motorized wheelchair, so that kind of limits access. I saw nothing that stood out as far as any that did not appear to be clean. They offer meals.
