We have brought my aunt into Arden Courts of Avon, and they were all wonderful. She is there for a short-term respite. The reason we chose them was that they were very welcoming, the location was convenient to our home, and it didn't seem like a hospital-type setting. It feels very home. The staff who assisted us were excellent, professional, warm, and welcoming. We're very happy with the staff. We're very pleased with the facilities.

Our experience with Arden Courts of Avon has been lovely. People are warm. They introduced themselves, and they seemed to care. It has been a good transition for mom. Her room is comfortable. It is small and cozy. They have a dining area for each hallway, so it's small with just a few tables. They have a kitchen area. She sits at a table with two or three other people. The aides are there, helping with feeding as necessary. It all seems to work pretty smoothly. They have activities in the morning and in the afternoon. They keep her busy and out of her room. They have some music, entertainment, and exercise.

Arden Courts of Avon has been the perfect choice for our family member diagnosed with dementia. All aspects of the residents' care and support are approached with dedication to the special needs of those with memory loss. Staff are professional and dedicated to the wellbeing of their charges. The facility is designed and decorated to be as close to a home environment as possible, surrounded by inviting park-like grounds that are inviting and accessible. Daily activities and events are well attended. We could not be happier with our decision.

Arden Courts of Avon is strictly memory care. We chose it for my mother because it looked the safest. I like the setup. They had smaller rooms where she can see the bathroom. They had activities most of the day. They just seemed like a caring community. I like the staff. They all seem very nice. I don't think she has any problem with the food, but I had a problem with it. She's not supposed to have any sodium in her diet or very little sodium, and they've been giving her sausages. I had to talk with them a couple of times to change her diet. I did stress that she should have little sodium, and they explained that they don't add sodium. Some of the food that they give her has sodium already in it, so I had to speak to them about them and we're trying to correct the situation. The place looks good to me. They were doing some flower arranging and storytelling. They have a nice outside court where you can walk outside. It's all fenced in and safe. They have bingo and different games.

We were looking for a safe, friendly and professional environment for our mother and we couldn't have found a better facility. The executive director, Randy Phillips, has gone above and beyond our expectations. His dedication to the residents at Arden Court is amazing and his professionalism is clearly represented by his choice in staff and the excellent service and care they provide. Our mom has thrived while living at Arden Court and we are relieved to know she is looked after by such caring professionals. Choosing a place like Arden is never easy, there is always a feeling that you're taking a chance on a place no matter how much research you do.. we were no different. Again, it's all about who is running places like Arden we feel very lucky to have someone like Randy Phillips (and his staff!) in charge of our mom's facility.

There are so many employees at this particular facility(Arden Courts) in Avon, Ct to positively commnet on. Right now, my FOCUS is on TOBY BARRY -admin. services coordinator. Toby has been not only highly skilled at her job, but her professional demeanor of making sure that every action gets completed and followed up on to ensure that the families- like us -feel that my father and- us, as the family- are so being taken care of.!!! Our needs are always taken seriously and the customization of each person there is always at the forefront of their care mission! THANK YOU, TOBY, YOU are a GEM! Gary and Charlene

My husband was at Arden Courts of Avon for two weeks in his own room. There were four wings with 16 rooms in each wing. There were two aides for 16 people. Everybody had their own rooms. It was for memory care and not so much for someone with a second condition, like my husband who has Parkinson's. They had visiting nurses and provided physical therapy as well. The facility seemed to be fine for other people but not for my husband, though it's a very nice facility.

I liked that Arden Courts is very small, and my mother gets a lot of personal attention. The staff people are excellent. It is just one room to each person. Like I said, it is a small place with cottages, and it is nice. They have different small dining rooms for various people, and I guess the food is alright. It seems that it is really specialized in dementia. It is a memory care facility.

When I first entered the facility we were greeted by a woman at a reception desk who was really friendly. We did not need any assistance because my friend had been there many times before so she knew right where her grandfathers room was. We got to his room and he was not there, a nurse was in the hall so my friend asked if she had seen him. The nurse told us that he had went down to the activities center. So, we headed to the activity room and there he was with about 6 other residents and 2 employees who appeared to be running the activity. They were playing music for the residents, I think it was Frank Sinatra. All of the residents seemed to really be enjoying themselves, and the employees were very interactive with the residents, dancing with them and making them smile. It gave me a very warm feeling inside. Her grandfather spotted her and he came over to us, but asked if we could wait a few minutes until activity was over because he was really enjoying it. Another reassurance that they must be doing something right to have such happy residents. The property appeared really clean and well tended too also. Overall, I had a very good feeling and it seemed the residents really enjoyed being there as well.
