My mom moved into the Commons at Woodland Hills. Everybody is just so sweet there. My mom is like a completely different person now. She's joining in activities. She's so happy. She has things to talk about and friends she's met. It's been wonderful. The staff members are super helpful, like when my mom goes downstairs and asks them for whatever, whether it's hot water for tea or if she wants more dessert, they give her extra stuff to take to her room. They're so sweet to her, and she really likes it. The facility is a bit older, but still very pretty and very clean. They do a lot of fun things. They have a full-time car service that can take you anywhere from Monday through Friday. They have field trips where they go out to Malibu for lunch, which is an additional cost, but that's OK. They have a movie night every night, exercise classes, arts and crafts, and trivia. It's just really fun for my mom.

I toured The Commons at Woodland Hills. They were okay. The location is very central, on a very busy street, which kind of made me feel uncomfortable. It's on Ventura Boulevard and that's a main throwaway for a lot of businesses. It was a little bit too busy for my taste. It's a nice facility. It's in a centrally located area. So, there are shops and things all around it and businesses. They have a memory care which is on a different floor. They seem to have activities going on all the time. They had a garden area where people could dine outside. It looked nice and their dining facility looked really good. They have a big activity room where they show movies. I saw people watching movies and stuff. It reminds me of one long hallway. It was just like a long building going into the back parking area. One lady raved about it. However, my daughter didn't care for that one. The place was nice, and it seemed well cared for. I saw both the memory care and the assisted living. The residents can go outside and walk around or into the parking area. They're more kind of independent where they could live and come and go as they please. I wanted my father in a place that wasn't as accessible. It was outside on Ventura Boulevard, which is such a busy area and people could drive into the parking lot. The gate and the doors are locked but I didn't care for the location.

I went to look at The Commons at Woodland Hills. I didn't like the location as much. It was on a very busy road, and I just felt that it was dangerous for my mom. The facility looked a little bit older to me. The positive of it was that I really liked the apartment settings. I thought they were very nice and clean. They had a lot of very good planned activities for the residents. The staff member was very helpful, gave me a tour, and answered my questions. She was great.

My dad moved into The Commons at Woodland Hills. It seemed to be OK. He said the room is really nice, like a new place, nicely decorated, and I think he chose the carpet that he wanted. He said the food is good, the people are nice, and everything seems to be pretty good. He seems to be pretty happy there. My experience has been good with the people who worked there. They seemed to be up on things, but it's not as if I've actually seen it. He said there are all kinds of things going on every day, people coming in to entertain the residents who live there, and all kinds of activities. Plus, he likes the food. My dad enjoys being around people, and the place suits him in that respect. It's stimulating for him, he likes to talk, and he likes to listen, so this is really a good place for him.

The Commons at Woodland Hills is a good facility. I've only been there a couple of times, but my parents are being cared for adequately there. Their room has their furniture in it, and it looks okay. It's not very big. The staff is good. They have a full slate of activities there. They have art class, dance class, they bring in music once a week, they have happy hour and bingo, and all the normal activities you'd expect. The dining area is nice.

The Commons at Woodland Hills was really nice. The residents seemed super happy there, it seemed like they had a really nice community, and there were lots of activities going on when I was there. The staff was amazing, the aesthetics needed a bit of help, but the residents looked well cared for. They just need to update it a little bit.

The Commons was very friendly, the residents and staff have much to offer as far as outings go, and I was impressed with their transportation. They were kind enough to pick me up at my sons house, take me to the facility, take me back home, and it was really a very nice and enjoyable two or three hours that I was there. The food was delicious and I was very impressed. I wish they had more apartments than just one. Other than that, everything else was fine.

There was a big drawback at The Commons at Woodland Hills because the units were just one room and definitely too small. The rest of it, like the dining room, was nice. They have remodeled because it used to be a real dump when my husband was there 15 years ago, but it doesn’t work for me. There was a dining room and living room where they play movies. The people were all very nice, and I know they have activities. The commons is much cheaper than all of the others, but they also don’t have the same facilities. It is $3,500 a month for one room, which I think is too expensive.

My mom is in assisted living right now at The Commons at Woodland Hills. The staff is very good; they’re patient and caring, and they spend time with her. She’s living in an apartment where the floors are carpeted, and they’re very nice. She had enough to bring a lot of furniture with her from the house. They are clean. The food is not the best, but it’s OK; it’s edible, and they vary the menu. She has formed some very nice friendships. They have a lot of activities going on in the facility and outside, which she participates in if she wants to.

Woodland Hills is very accessible to us as it was in the neighborhood where my mother lives. The activities sound good, and I saw the model room; it was set up nicely, and that looked pretty good.

The Commons is in a pleasant and rich looking area. It is a big white building with pillars in front of it. It is very pleasant and very clean. My mother is Jewish, she wanted some elderly Jewish people to talk to, and it is 86% Jewish. It is very big, very nice, and very expensive. My mother is very happy with the service she gets. She has not participated in any activities yet because she is 96 and she doesn't like to go out much anymore, but the activities they have are games like board games and card games. They take the ladies to a movie theater once in a while. The dining room is very nice. They have two different sessions for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She likes the food. I ate there once or twice, and the food is very pleasant and very nice.

Woodland west was a beautiful place and it had just been remodeled. They gave me a full tour and they have lots of activities. One of the things that people enjoyed is the music therapy and movie night. It gives people a sense of normal living and they go on outings. It was all brand new and modern, it was run by nice people and I was impressed with it. They didn't have much outside space though.
