Rose's Residential Care Facility was just a house and was very cheap behind the civic center. They were all Spanish, and I couldn’t understand anything anybody said. Most of them are Filipinos and good, caring people. However, I saw the most awful thing there; to this day, I have never forgotten it. They had birds, which was very nice, but they had them sitting on wire coat hangers eating out of baby jars. I was going to say something to the owner, but she didn’t understand me. I felt really sorry for those poor, little birds.
