"Kindred Healthcare - Hospice Care Center provide a team of healthcare professionals and volunteers for on-gong support to both patients and family members. This care is provided in the belief that by helping the patient and loved ones accept death as a natural part of life, a measure of peace can be restored to the process of dying. By alleviating the patient's pain and fear, hospice care fosters the spiritual to live, as fully as possible, all the day's of one's life. As a former Director of Social Services at a Sub-acute Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) in the Marin County I rarely contacted Kindred Healthcare - Hospice Care Center to provide services at the hospital. I found that the staff was very superficial and pushy. Also, this is an agency that is very BIG in the medical profession and provide an array of diverse services. In most cases I would recommend this type of agency to individuals due to the array of diverse services - "A One Stop Shop". Unfortunately, in the case of hospice care I feel you need a very caring and compassionate agency that really specialize in comfort care and I just don't feel this agency meets that criteria. "

"My parents live here and they LOVE IT! Dad's health has been failing, but Mom is doing quite well. So She has committees she serves on, and Dad has bridge games. There are cultural events and sports and everything you can imagine: weight room, tech center, lending library, art room, beauty salon, etc There is so much for residents to do, or not do, depending on their desires. The food is very good. You can dine in the dining room - full service; or in the buffet area. They also have foods you can take up to your apartment and keep there. Delivery to your room is also available for a fee or if your doctor says you need it. The Bel Air mall is just down the hill and there are daily shuttles so you can get anything you need. Services are also brought in: jewelry repair, financial services. The health care is exceptional and all inclusive. Dad went to the hospital last year and the Tam took care of everything, transport for Dad, transport for my Mom to visit him, long term after care so he didn't try to get back to his old life before he was ready. Best of all no bills! The staff handles everything. Moving here was the BEST decision my parents ever made. I don't fret at all about them because I know they are in such good hands. "

"I was a patient at South Marin Health and Wellness for 19 days in September, and will be returning there by choice next week after surgery. I had never been a patient in a care facility and was not sure what I was in for, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. In short, I loved it there, because of the professional, kind and responsive staff at all levels. All my needs were safely taken care of. Because of Covid (which I don’t think they’ve ever had there), their social and recreational activities were limited, but I didn’t care. I could visit with friends and family through a screened window. I felt safe, accepted, well fed and taken care of. What more could I have needed?"

They have different activities to help stimulate the residents' minds and the physical therapists make sure the residents get the exercise and other attention they need. "

"Creekside Healthcare Center was very clean, and they were very nice. The people seemed nice, and first impressions were nice. The rooms are clean, appropriate, and nice. They were double beds. It didn't have a smell, they were inviting, and they were not afraid to show me around -- which was a good sign. I actually stopped and asked a couple people who were sitting in a room "Are you happy here?" They were like "Yeah!" so I would give them a thumbs up for now. "

The facility is clean, and they care about their patients. The staff members I've interacted with are very kind and very professional. The building is very well structured. It looks very clean, and it smells very clean. I feel it's a very pleasant atmosphere. I don't feel like anything on the negative side at all. The rooms are pretty good size. My sister shares a room with another patient. It's very well-lit, you can see out the windows and you can see where the nurse's station is located. Everything's right in the view from her room."

"They're really good over at San Pablo Healthcare Center. Everything is good. I have no complaints with them. They do good with the care and the food. The rooms are nice; they're spacious. Sanitation was good also. I like the friendly staff. "

"What I like about this facility is their amenities which includes 24-hour emergency call system, physical therapy and fitness room, recreation room and library, and hair salon and manicurist. They also have a great security system which is the Wander Guard Security System so you do not have to worry about your loved ones safety while you're away. "

"My mother, Jan, was admitted late last year to Shields Nursing Center after being discharged from Doctors Medical Center. She, just like anyone else, did not want to go to any nursing facility, because she missed home so much after being in the hospital urgent care for about four months. From her feedback as well as from my personal visits, the staff were very friendly and helpful even though they were very busy doing their best to care for so many people. The food was reasonable. The facility does need more improvement on the lighting in the rooms. The rooms are small, which is not the factor. The rooms have a dark interior which seems to bring gloom to not only the patients but the visitors as well. Knowing the buildings are quite old, I am sure some time the rooms will be brightened up, which will help in brightening up the patients who stay there. I would like to add, that my mother needed to have all her pain meds upon discharge from the center, and even though the full prescribed amounts could not be released, they were so compassionate enough to give her samples and whatever amounts that could be approved right away. Though I was not a patient staying there, I still miss the wonderful staff and my mother would say the same. Rest her soul. "

"Overall stay exceeded expectations. My wife got excellent personal care every day which was very consistent in personal hygiene, medications and therapy. My wife's stay was very comfortable and accommodating and although she has a major femur fracture the overall atmosphere made it possible for a very relaxing stay and progress to an extent where she could be comfortable to go home feeling confident that she can recover in the nearest future. There are particular staff who from the get go provided support and helped us make the right decisions these staff members include Rich and Rena from Social Services and special thanks to a charge nurse on the 2nd floor-TJ and CNA-Merlita. The entire management and staff should receive recognition for my wife's stay. I would recommend Pacific Heights to family and friends because the personalized care and attention I have seen is one of the best in the industry.
